I hate to burst your bubble of excitement, but this rather an unusual occurrence. I would only consider it a receipt of acknowledgement if I was being very technical but besides that I don't think it is. If the visa office that you are to be transferred to hasn't been specified in the email then you can be assured that the significant aspect of your application hasn't started. In the AOR most people receive it's stated in the subject that it's a receipt of acknowledgement, as well as what office your file has been transferred to.

Hi, Can someone advice how a AOR letter look like? What info should one be looking out for in that ?

I seriously doubt whether there is a standard format for this email? Some say they received reference number with medical and others say they just got a reference number in AOR
I guess that is case by case basis.
CIC guide says following in the process - what u received is an acknowledgement letter from CIC
CIC Assessment: If yes, an acknowledgement letter will be sent to you

Be happy & wait for medicals

Are u able to check ur application status? Did u try that? As seton mentioned the link
Tell us what it says there in CAS

i too got this email just now. I have applied under FSW before doing my CEC application and also have received this email before getting the real AOR email. This is the first email after CC getting charged and Sydney letting you know it has been forwarded to the Visa Office, I'm expecting another email later down from Ottawa itself saying they have received my application.

I don't understand, June 2012 applicants are already receiving AOR?
What is your timeline?
Mine is :
App sent to sidney : June 6th
App received: June 8th
CC debited: June 26th

I'm saying this is not the AOR but a confirmation from CIO Sydney that they have sent my application onward to Ottawa. When Ottawa receives it there will be another email sent from Ottawa itself saying they have received my application. This second email is an Acknowledgment of Receipt from the Visa Office.

My timeline is:

App sent: June 18th
App arrived: June 20th
CC charged: July 23rd
(Email) Transferred to CPP-O: July 26th

This is peculiar, because not everybody on the same boat. Is there any possibility that you received email because you did not designate the right Visa Office ? for example, you filled out some other VOs but not CPP-O? Therefore CIC send you a email to let you know which VO your files has been transferred to ??

For others, we don't receive such emails because we designated the right VO??

Any other thought?

Well at the end of the day we just have to wait and see what we get next. I'd be happy to get medicals request next lol won't hear me complaining. I'm just happy that something is happening. ;D

listen guys i cant get it why other get AOR and others not?which VO they sent application?am so nervous right now.because i cant see anything in my e-case and cic but i thing if others they got AOR IS GOOD MAY BE i will be the next,congrats to those who already got AOR

I also got the same email with application refrence number but when i input my info on ecas , it unable to recognise the refernce/filenumber .
