Hi friends,
I applied in June , my application reached on 16th jun and cc charged on July 09. Today I received an email from centralised intake office with application reference number but subject of email doesnt say anything like AOR or something. It's mentioned in email that your application will be forwarded to visa office. Any suggestions welcome . Thanks

I hate to burst your bubble of excitement, but this rather an unusual occurrence. I would only consider it a receipt of acknowledgement if I was being very technical but besides that I don't think it is. If the visa office that you are to be transferred to hasn't been specified in the email then you can be assured that the significant aspect of your application hasn't started. In the AOR most people receive it's stated in the subject that it's a receipt of acknowledgement, as well as what office your file has been transferred to.

Hey Guys, Just checked my credit card and it was charged yesterday 23rd July, my application was sent on 18th June and arrived in Sydney on 20th June.

Hello,
I was concerned about no activity on my applicaiton.. I realised that my CC was charged on last friday.. I am super excited :-)

Can anyone advice me about what time from CC charging will I receive an intimation about the next steps ?
From whom would I be receiving this e-mail (Sender's name) and what would be the subject ?? Just to keep my eyes open for that..

Thanks.

There appear to be a new trend in CIC correspondence style. I am aware of someone who recently received his AOR without the mail clearly specifying visa office. However, the mail advised that further correspondence should be with his processing visa office. How he can decipher what and where that visa office is? Nevertheless, any progressive information from CIC is a positive!

Milind,

We would have submitted the metriculation certificate (or marks sheet whichever applicable) and which normally has the date of birth mentioned in that and this has been submitted along with the other educational certificates.... right?

Wont this suffice the purpose? Do we need to explicitly mention in any additional written document?

I also fall under the similar case which drives me nuts... I have not yet received any AOR or any update.

Matriculation certi with DOB on it will suffice

Sydney office received my application package on 28th June. I have also attached just the certificate of DOB from CGI for Birth Certificate. Now that they have returned the entire batch, what have you done? Which document are you attaching now, for Birth Certificate? Also, are you just sending the rest of the documents as such, ie, the same forms you had filled up earlier?
They had mentioned they accept matriculation/higher secondary certificates or school leaving certificates as DOB proof.

I attached by school and college leaving certificates which have DOB on them and have sent the application back - no changes, same forms

My application was received by CIC on 28th June 2012. My package is still not returned and neither have they charged my CC... How long does it typically take for either one of them to happen?

I have received the file number, the CIC has received my application in mid April.
Now what further? and how much time does it take from now on?

Consider yourself as a july 2012 applicant.
