This doesnt make sense. Why would they send back asking you to put Buffalo as the office requested for processing the application when it is clearly mentioned on the website that it should be CPP-O.

can you please elaborate and clarify?

The reason they sent back my application was because I missed a form for my spouse Additional Family Information [ IMM 5406]., but looking through the documents I noticed they wrote some things in red on my generic form, one was the office : they wrote Buffalo (I don't know why?????) They did not ask me to resubmit the GENERIC FORM though, just that specific form I was missing entirely.

I know it's strange, guess CIC might have been flooded with more applications than usual, as people with 2+ years of experience are rushing to send their application before CIC announces the 1 year rule, just guessing

Hi,

Do you know what exactly is the change in rules for the CEC applicants. Thank you.

The rules did not change yet. The Minister announced an intention to reduce the 2 year work experience requirement to 1 year, but he only stated "later in 2012" as a timeframe for implementing the rule.

As such, the existing 2 year requirement (unless you're a graduate) persists. If people applied with 1 year of experience and weren't a graduate, their application would be rejected.

Thank you Seton. Appreciate the prompt reply. My wife is applying as the primary applicant in August 2012. She has an undergraduate degree from Canada (2011 Uof T) so I am assuming she is eligible for the 1 year. My question is,

We both have been Canada since 2006 and have visited India (our home country) only twice for 4 weeks each time. Do we need Police clearence certificate from India as well? We were in UK from 2004 to 2006 before coming to Canada. Do we need to add both the UK and India PCC? Thank you once again for your prompt reply and your efforts.

I guess you are an Indian national, and would therefore need both UK and India PCC!

Thank you Cos!

Unfortunately, my package was returned back due to lack of date of birth proof! I dont have my birth certificate, nor school leaving certificate; can I get an affidavit from the lawyer with my date of birth details?

Also, do I need to fill the form again? or send the same forms along with the affidavit?

Thank you, I am trying to stay positive. I mailed back my application with the missing document today, it should get there by Thurs. My pgwp expires in feb. 2013 but i am eligible to extend it until september 2013. Hopefully it will be enough time... Good luck to you too!

Did you fill all the forms again or send the previous forms (that had red tick marks) and just attached the missing form?

What is acceptable as a proof of your birth date depends on your country of origin. A lot of people re-submit the original form if nothing (e.g. visa office, format) has changed in-between submissions.

Hi Milind,

Did you submit the Certificate of Date of Birth given from Indian Embassy. And still your application package returned?

yes. Since the basis of this info is passport, it doesnt suffice
We need either matriculation or higher secondary or school/college leaving certificate, if none of these are available - then affidavit
