Our of curiosity, how many of those who are still waiting for MR etc had their files transferred from BUFFALO -- > CPP-O as a result of the office closure?

Just received my MR this morning. WOW what a huge relief.

83rpinto: I am sure that you will receive your MR in the next two weeks. I am more than confident. Because mine said DECISION MADE exactly two weeks ago. So I am guessing that you will get yours in the next couple of weeks.

Office was officially closed in May 2012, so June 2012 applicants would not have been impacted as they were never in process in Buffalo.

Just got a request for RPRF as well!!!

BUT - They also asked me for Police Clearance AGAIN. Saudi police clearance which isn't possible to get and I sent them this email in november..... explaining how it is not an option and showed them the various emails to embassies here in canada and in saudi arabia!!! How am i supposed to get them something the government doesn't give. Should i tell them i replied to the request before and forward them that old email. I don't see how I can get it as the saudi website clearly says they do no provide it.

This is what the email said-

This is in reference to your application for permanent residence in Canada. Our records indicate that we are still missing the following document(s) in order to finalize your application:


Ø > Police Certificate: provide an original police clearance certificate from Saudi Arabia.

An initial request was sent to you on 2012-11-07. To this date, we have not heard back from you. BUT I REPLIED within that week in november!!!!!!!

The above information/documents must be received in our office within 30 days from the date of this letter.

This is a final reminder for you to comply with our request. If we do not hear back from you within the prescribed deadline, an officer will review your case and make a decision based on the information available. As a result, your application may be refused.

So I guess after all, DECISION MADE means nothing until you hear from them.


ssparkles: as for the Saudi Arabia check, you can get it from the ministry of interior. however, your government might not be in favor of the Permanent residency application as they want their citizens to have one citizenship so they might ask you to give up one of them.

Its frustrating to be in this position but I hope that everything moves well for you

I think you need to send them the same mail as earlier, as well as remind them that you have sent this before on so-and-so date. If possible, try to attach the auto-reply from earlier instance.
