Hello Yosemite,

Congrats on the "Decision Made" & PPR. Have you sent your passport to CPP-O yet? I got my PPR last Friday and I'm going to send it first thing the coming Tuesday.

Thank You !

Quick question: do you know if it is okay to send the passport to CPP-O's courier address (i.e. 365 Laurier Avenue West) even if it is being sent by Canada Post (Xpresspost or Priority with the the "Signature Required" option)? Or should anything being sent by Canada Post be addressed to the PO Box (9780)?

I have sent my pp to the PO box address and it has reached CPPO on Friday, May 17th. I am not sure if you can use Canada Post xpress delivery for the courier address. may be some one else can help out here.

I was thinking about sending a next-day Priority Canada Post mail with the "Signature Required" option to 365 Laurier Avenue West; cause I figured one should not really ask for signature if sending to the PO Box. Any insights?

Also, Congratulations for the PPR !

Thanks for your reply Yosemite. I think it's best to follow CIC's instructions exactly down to the last letter rather than trying to second guess things. So like you I'll just Xpresspost my passport to the PO BOX address and NOT ask for signature. The delivery confirmation that comes with Xpresspost should be good enough.

Since our PPR timelines are quite similar, I'll be interested to know when you receive your passport back - please keep us posted.

I saw a list of CIC panel doctors but wanted to know which doctor is friendly (in your experience) and offer e-medicals with fast turn-around time in Toronto & GTA? Btw, How is Dr Dharmavathy?

Please reply.

Please submit all documents by MAIL in a single package. Please quote your application number on your correspondence and send the package to one of the following addresses:

Canada Post:

CPP – Ottawa

PO Box 9780

Ottawa ON K1G 4B9

Courier:

CPP – Ottawa

365 Laurier Avenue West

Ottawa ON K1A 1L1

Just follow the document . If you are sending courier then you cannot send it to po box so use the other address.

I used the P.O.Box address to send it through Canada post (Xpresspost -1 day). It reached!

And the good news is i just checked the status for my return Xpresspost envelope that I sent with it and it was just sent out this morning at 6:58 am!!!!! ;D

So that means I should have it by tomorrow!

Niagara- flagpoling- I should plan to go on Thursday!! I can't believe its almost done!!

Congrats ssparkles! This is great news. Looks like CPP-O turned the Passport around in two weeks. I just sent mine this morning. Now fingers crossed; with luck, I should get it back by first week/mid-June.

Thanks yosemite and swahid.

This forum has really helped in keeping track of every step hasn't it?! However its not over till i re enter without any issues! :o

As per what I've read, its OK if i dont have a US visa (hence the flagpole) and its okay if i am on implied Canadian status too. However not having any sort of document to prove i'm on implied status in canada makes me a little concerned. :|

What if I get stuck in no man's land like tom hanks in the Terminal? :o :o :o

I would love to get stuck in no man's land like Tom Hanks in The Terminal, but only if Catherine Zeta-Jones is there as well ha ha ;D.

On a more serious note - are you planning to land @ Peace Bridge @ Fort Erie? From what I can gather by going over the forum here is that they basically ask you for Passport, CoPR and a piece of ID with your address on it (Canadian driver's license should work fine). The advantange of Peace Bridge over the Rainbow Bridge is that unlike Niagara, at Fort Erie you can make a u-turn before reaching the US; so you won't have to deal with US border officials at all.

I would still recommend that you give a call to CIC's Call Centre once you receive your CoPR and get an estimate on how long the wait times are for landing at a local office. If it is around or less than two/three weeks, then I guess it might be worth it to avoid the hassle of having to go to the border altogether.

I think you will be fine. Please keep us posted on how the landing goes.

Good luck!
