We have received your application for permanent residence in Canada in the Family class on 06/04/2012 and have created a file with the file number indicated above.
Note: The application received date is in mm/dd/yyyy format. Please quote this file number in all future correspondence with our office.
Canada has a carefully managed and controlled immigration program that is committed to maintaining a balance of 60% economic immigrants and 40% non-economic immigrants (family class, refugees, and those in need of protection). Amongst non-economic immigrants, priority is given to spouses/partners and dependent children.
In order to expedite the processing of your application, we are requesting that you provide the following as soon as possible:
• Payment of your Right of Permanent Resident Fee (landing fee) to our office in Mississauga by your sponsor in Canada, if not already paid.
• Submission of police clearance certificates for time spent in any country for a period of 6 months or more, if not already submitted.
• Submission of original passport along with any old expired passports for you and your accompanying family members. The picture in the passport for a child under 6 years of age must have been taken within the last 3 years. The picture in the passport for a child between the ages of 7 and 18 must have been taken within the last 5 years.
Please note that a request for your passport(s) at this time is not a guarantee of visa issuance. Passports are requested so that we can hold them on your file and issue your visas as soon as possible after all requirements have been met.
PLEASE RETURN A COPY OF THIS LETTER WITH THE REQUESTED DOCUMENTS. Documents and passports must be submitted in a SINGLE package. Do not submit any documents and passports until you have prepared the entire package.

It gr8 one...
Hope We are next to receive it .......

Just a question: New Deli applicants seem to get PPR much quicker than anyone else even though their processing time is 8 months. I've noticed this in the April, May and June spreed sheets. Anyone know why? Good luck to them anyway.

I wouldn't want my passport requested so soon as it meens I can't travel to see my wife.

Many of the applicants from February in the ND VO have received visa......so ND VO is very fast....I am still waiting for an acknowledgement from my VO that they even have a file!!!

My husband just told me that he received an email today August 13,2012 that he is already approved as a sponsor:) thank you God for an answered prayer! :)

Seems a little unfair...why should anyone get to be with their family sooner than others because of where they live.

Not sure why ND VO is so fast.......it seems the rest of the VO's should be following their example.....well we have no control over it so it is not worth getting upset about.......I just try and keep busy and stay positive

Each VO has a different procedure, and ND asks for the passport at the beginning of the process. Indeed not always practical as people can't travel after that. Some VO only ask to the passport once they are ready to issue the visa (London is like that from what I understood, if you are not from a visa-exempt country).

Good luck!
