just curious if anyone else has had the sponsorship accepted, but then not heard from the outland VISA office in a long time? tomorrow its a month since my gf got accepted as a sponsor, but i haven't heard anything from London. the only update in e-cas is "medical results have been received". should i worry, or should i assume London has received my application?
Same as what CharlieD10 says... I've been waiting longer and only just received an "in process" update on ecas but no email or postal correspondence... should be fine, I say 8)

Just wondering why the individuality at VOs with respect to issuance of AOR. I thought this was something that was supposed to be uniform across VOs, despite different processing times and procedures, or else why would CIC put the AOR template and guidelines on when to send it in its processing manual for ALL overseas offices? I can understand if perhaps London chooses not to do this because they ask for passport relatively quickly and they don't want to be bothered with an extra step, but I just don't see how they can get to make that decision.

That is normal for London, they do not issue AORs. Files are usually sent to the visa offices within 10-14 days after sponsor approval, so they likely have your file since last month. The next communication most London applicants receive is a request for their passport to issue the visa. Since your status is at Medical received, I wouldn't be surprised if that happened fairly soon for you.

Isn't that a great question? I suspect somewhere in the manuals John Q Public doesn't get to see are all the reasons why, although we expect uniform processing guidelines to be applied, it doesn't actually happen. So, in London, there's a memo that says, "Don't bother wasting paper to send an AOR, you have the go-ahead to process applications with speed and efficiency." And in Kingston, there's a memo that says, "If you feel like it, and the applicant/sponsor/representative complains long and loud enough, send them one. If you don't hear from them, don't bother. Soon come."

Or electrons, as it were, since I'm sure the VOs are happy to email AORs if they're happy enough to do this with the much more important PPR. I mean most of that email is the template; the only things that pertain to one's file are the UCI and Application Number, the name in the greeting, and the date. Oh well.....now I know London doesn't send one out for the future. And yeah, I guess the theory about the VO-specific memos trumping general guidelines makes sense......as much as we may not like it.

I got approved to sponsor on aug 26 and haven't heard anything either. My husband is finally able to long onto E-CAS, but it only says his application was received in Miss. I called the Beijing office yesterday and the lady said there is no way they will even look at our file over the phone. So we wait, we wait.

Hi alasken, My wife(in canada) was able to log in to ecas and it said London Recieved our app. on 14th July, started processing on 27th July! We havent recvd any update since then... A friend told us the final update will be 'decision made' usually added after visa is issued.... so next thing I should recieve is PPR in the post, hopefully... We already had approval from quebec a few weeks ago, so i would like to think we are in final stages.. Best thing to do is just keep living, dont worry too much about it(though difficult) and eventually it will happen...
