Logically, there could be a number of reasons for the processing time at CPCM going up: summer vacations and other absences by staff going up, budget cuts reducing staff or hours, an uptick in applications for the spousal and parents/grandparents classes, maybe the applications weren't as spread out arriving at CPCM because of people waiting out the postal strike (that one I'm less sure about), etc.

About the presence or lack of additional accompagning family members I cannot say, but first-stage approval is about the sponsor, not the applicant(s)' eligibility, including eligibility to sponsor based on criminality. Remember, the applicant goes through the background and criminal checks at the VO stage?

Sorry I didnt read the post right,(seems like something happeneing alot latly to me) but yeah the sponsor part I totaly agree with you all on that one, i was thinking about the 2nd stage. sorry guys, need to concentrate i guess before i post, might have something to do with my dad and his recent diagnosis.
but yes hopefully things will hurry up for them, and for everyone :)

No problem, MandyUK. I hope your dad gets well soon :(

Hi Everyone, our application status says "in process". It says that it started processing on Aug 22, :)what does that mean and does it mean that my husband will get his PR anytime soon? How long does it usually take? I am happy but nervous! haha! :o

oh no......i'll be praying for him then :-\

I'm not sure I understand your timeline......specifically, how your application could be filed June 14 and you received an AOR on June 16. That is just not possible.

Hey ddobro2... going by our spreadsheet, I think the app arrived in CPC - M on 16th June... and sponsorship approval was August 8th

Sounds like good news to me... not sure about average processing time in Buffalo but looks like you've at least moved onto the next stage. Yay :) What are your thoughts ddobro2?

Sorry about that ddobro!
Thanks MDSB :)

hey mdsb - yeah, if maple's file was *received* two days later, that is fine, but I believe the timeline said *AOR*, which is clearly impossible, not to mention given the big delay in first-stage approval that precedes receipt by the VO in June. If sponsorship was approved on August 8th (we'll assume that it was transferred the same day to Buffalo), to go to "in process" in less than three weeks is pretty incredible as well. Plenty of people have been waiting for months without an "in process," some without even an "AOR." So I don't know what to chalk this up to. Another example of CIC's inconsistencies, I suppose.

kourts, I'm glad you did that and you got a positive, although late, response. I still think is ridiculous how long your case is moving considering you're one of the early June applicants. They better have a good explanation (or excuse) for how your application has (or hasn't) progressed.

Hang in there and keep strong. I've been following your situation as if it was me going through that. Good luck next week ;)
