Yes spoke to them yesterday and same old same old so disappointing,, I’ve tried to email Mississaga MP and got an email back saying that I have to be a residence of Mississauga and I live in Etobicoke so I have to do my research

Your best bet is to get a hold of your MP like Zmaqsood said. However, this may or may not speed things along; it could very well be that the other country (your home country) is holding everything up. Keep in mind that prior to the law changes a couple of years ago or so, 2 years for processing was considered normal. I read somewhere that a city like Edmonton (I'm fairly sure it was Edmonton, but it could have been somewhere else) only has about 20 IRCC agents working on applications- which is a SUPER small amount. Toronto I'm sure isn't fairing any better.

Usually it’s extended background checks that can explain such a terrible delay in processing citizenship applications.
Keep praying.
Good luck

I am August 2017 applicant. I have a same situation. I call them 20 times and email them 4 times and I sent the letter to my MP and my MP put it in my file and didnt reply to me. The worst part is there is no transparency to find out what is the problem. I passed my background check 4 month a go but after 17 months residency and prohibition not started yet.
