Allah yebarek feek ya sadiqi. Inshallah you will follow very soon, too!!

That was the PPR email. The email only notified me to open my GCKey account where I found the “Request Letter” in the messages!
Insh'Allah ya akhi, sooner than later Ya Rab.

Great to know, get your appointment booked with VFS and drop your passports for Visas ASAP, btw did you have any dependents with your application or was it Single applicant?

Heaven, freedom, bliss, salvation. Just heaven.

Oh my god! Seriously, oh my god! My hands are literally shaking as I’m writing this now. Oh how long I’ve waited to write these words!

I just got the PPR (in a message on my GCKey), on the 60th day after AOR, exactly!! (Background check updated to complete yesterday, September 14.)

Thank you, everyone I’ve met over here. iSaidGoodDay, WM150, RoN1DoN, shawn.s, justhopeful17, gschostack, Masked Maverick — you've all been such good friends on this very strenuous, but rewarding journey.

I’ve been patient for over eight years now. Don’t anyone ever dare lose faith!

Don't forget to NOT smile in the photo for CoPR :D

Congrats!

Will do!
I’m single.

Congrats!

Thank you, dear friend! I won’t! Haha!

They asked me to include my eye color and height. Do I just write them on a piece of paper or have them typed and printed out?

Here's what I did (me and my spouse). We wrote the following on an A4 size paper for each's envelope:
1. full name
2. passport number
3. height
4. eye color

That's pretty much it!

That makes sense. Thank you!

Another question, please.

I have a bit of a problem now. I had applied for a UK visitor visa to visit my family there and submitted my passport to UKVI (TLScontact) here in Egypt on August 30. Stupid me didn’t think my Canada application would be approved any time soon, so I didn’t fork up the extra $50 to keep my passport with me at the time. Now I’m worried because my application and passport are still with the UKVI Decision Making Centre and I’m afraid it may take more than the three weeks standard service time, meaning I may not get my passport back until the end of September. I’ve called UKVI and requested an urgent return of my passport regardless of the decision on my application. She said this request may take 15 working days, i.e. 21 calendar days. And then God knows how long it’s gonna take to have my passport shipped, maybe an extra week.

As per the instructions in the PPR letter from RROC, I have raised a CSE inquiry through the IRCC webform requesting an extension to the passport submission deadline just in case. I chose the reason for the inquiry as “permanent residence applied online.” However, after submitting, I got a message saying that they would not respond if my application is within standard processing times, which it is.

Does this mean my request would be ignored out of hand? Should I have chosen another option so they could respond my urgent request? Should I maybe choose “replacement or amendment of documents” or “change of contact information”?

I was in this exact situation. I submitted my passport for UK visitor visa the day I received BIL.

Thankfully, my UKVI decision came in 6 days.

But what I read at the time, I would have raised a webform to request for extension something like one week before the deadline expiry. Also keep the UK VFS receipts scanned and ready to upload as proof just in case your application’s decision is delayed

Hey, thank you so much!

I’m not sure. I didn’t get an email from a specific address, just one of those “donotreply” ones, and the request letter PDF within the GCKey account merely said to contact RROC if there’s been any changes to my circumstances. So I suppose that means it has to be my secondary VO, I think, because that’s where a PPR comes from?

Your timeline is almost an exact copy of mine. I am sure you won’t have to wait much longer now. Don’t despair and be certain that it’s gonna come at the right time, my friend!

Also, thankfully, I managed to get my passport back from TLScontact (the United Kingdom’s visa application center). I thought it must have been sent off to the UK itself, but it was just lying around in a box at the local office, because of a “technical error” with my visitor visa biometrics. I felt like it was being held hostage because I had to pay to get it back without canceling the application. I suppose fate is telling me to go to Canada first and then worry about visiting my family in London later!

I’ll be finally dropping off my passport at the VFS Global Cairo office tomorrow. I’ll keep y’all updated.

Any of our Outland friends who got the COPR document could tell us how long it took from passport submission at VFS to receiving it?

VFS took a 2-4 days to deliver my passport to IRCC, then it took 2-3 weeks for it to process and once they were stamped it took 2-3 days for them to reach me. Look at your IRCC {location} specific thread (e.g. IRCC Delhi).
