From what I've read in previous discussions, it seems they will process normally even if the dates have passed. But I'm also in the same situation so trying o remain optimistic..
You can proceed with submitting the application. Please ensure that you have a valid address in Canada and active bank account, should you choose to show funds in Canada. Good luck!Hi @cansha @Naturgrl @sk1984indian
I am in a very critical situation. If you can please advice me what should i do know it will be a great help.
Situation: I landed as a PR on March and in April i had to return back to my home country due to some urgency. Now I am preparing to return to Canada. I am the only child of my parents and my parents wants to apply for their visit visa now before I leave as otherwise it will be hard for them to collect the documents and so on. My worry is that as I will be giving them the invitation letter to visit me in Canada, will the fact that I am with them in their home country during their application processing might make their application case weak? Do you think this fact may cause the VO to deny the application? There are some RCIC immigration lawyer who said it won't be a problem but others said it will be a problem so I am really confused.
Can you recommend me your thoughts on the above? and also share whether there is anything i can do to prevent rejection? thanks

You coming back after becoming PR should not impact. Since they have all the relevant documents to support the application. My parents will be sponsoring their entire travel cost. So, I dont need to show my funds isn't it?
However, as I came back in my home country after landing as a PR and will be going back soon, so do you think giving an invitation letter from my home country would work or it will be count as negative? They have strong home ties, financial/relational ties though.

10k dollar for 2 months is safe amount. Also the answer has to be ‘yes’ in the case you mentioned but if spouse has funds then it can be mentioned as well. In my SOP I did mention about expenses such as stay in Canada which I will be covering , as I am already paying for it. Provide as much authentic information as one can, rest VO decision. All the best.I am also in process of applying visitor visa for my spouse and I see 2 questions being asked in the application via IRCC Portal.
1. How much money do you (applicant) have for your stay in Canada? (In Canadian dollars - CAD) ?
2. Is someone else giving you money for your stay in Canada? Select Yes/No. If Yes, Please provide details. Note: When you give us proof of your financial documents, make sure to tell us who's providing the money (if it's not you).
From the second question, what I understand is, that if the applicant says 'YES', they should tell Immigration officers that 'XYZ' is providing money and include his/her financial documents along with your(applicant's) proof of funds. Also, whoever is supporting your funds can also write in a letter of invitation that they will be taking care of all expenses.
