Did you receive test invitation on Dec 2 while Tracker (https://tracker-suivi.apps.cic.gc.ca/en) still indicated your application with 'Background verification - In progress' ?

That's correct. Everything except (Citizenship Ceremony, of course) is "In Progress". I didnt get any so-called ghost update emails. The only comms I received was a test invite on Dec 2 and when I logged in to the tracker after that I saw a timeline stating on Nov 30, they changed the status of Citizenship Test to in progress. No other updates.

It seems some of applicants received test invitation few weeks after having 'Background completed' .

Hello there,
So nice to hear that some online applicants from July are getting test invites and tests completed!
I have two questions:
1) Does anyone know the email address for Citizenship inquiries?
2) what are ghost updates? My application was last "updated" on Dec 3rd 2022 but no change since the last update in Oct. Everything still as "in progress"
Appreciate any information that anyone can share

I saw on the top of my tracker page Application Last Updated Oct 7th. Does that mean I should be receiving something soon. Everything else in my account still says "In progress" Thanks everyone

Hey guys, I just got an update, I am an online applicant, I completely stopped checking everything now and just randomly checked today. Nov 30th, background verification completed and another ghost update Dec 2, should I be expecting a test notification anytime now?

i just received an email to provide another set of Canadian ID's.... BS... i already provided my Passport + PR Card... still they wanted a DL/ MSP card.. lol...

simply BS trying to buy time..and delay!!

Not really:

Examples of identification you can use include:

a copy of the biographical page of your passport/travel document (as requested above and also can be one (1) of your pieces of personal identification)
permanent resident card (PR card)
A PR card may only be used as personal identification if your second piece of personal identification was issued by the Canadian government.

driver’s licence
health insurance card
senior citizen identification card
age of majority card
foreign identity documents, such as a passport or government issued identification documents

Obviously your second piece of ID was your passport so was not issued by the Canadian government..hence you needed to add a driver's license or health card
