I submitted my application without doing upfront medical. I received AOR in June but no other update about my application. Is it a good idea to wait to hear from IRCC or take the medical & submit the medical form before getting medical request ? TIA 
No they dont seem to be processing medicals for other countries as well

Reason why outland applications are not being finalized:
Please refer to the complete video. This reason is valid for outland applications waiting for medicals/biometrics as well.
I believe IRCC might approve medicals and issue biometric requests by September/October. This month it seems unlikely.

I'd suggest to wait until you hear back from IRCC
No specific answer for this. There maybe some direction which IRCC agents would've received based on which they are working. I hope they resume issuing BIL soon.
According to the application status page, IRCC is currently finalizaing Canadian Experience Class applications that they received between "December 13 and 19, 2020"

I have been tracking this page since july and here is the timeline.
With the current speed they might reach August 2021 applications in 6-8 weeks. But that is not possible as there are a lot of checks involved. So my guess is they might resume processing PNP/Outland applications in September.

Good job tracking the timelines.
But I suppose their speed will decrease drastically, due to massive number of ITAs issued to CEC applicants in 2021.
Nearly 90.000 ITAs have been issued to CECs in the past 7 months!!

Wondering if it's possible for someone to have PR PNP/EE application under process and apply for CEC/EE PR application and have the two applications processed simultaneously ?
Since the pnp applications takes very long time to be processed I'm thinking of applying for CEC.

My passport is set to expire on December 04, 2021. Receive a letter to upload a passport page that is at least valid for 6 months, going to submit that in a few days. they gave me 7 days' time to do so.
