Has anyone (those who have completed the test and yet to receive oath date) just emailed the processing office and asked for what the delay is with their application? I am in two minds whether to ask...
I did because we were approved for urgent processing so I was checking why the oath email is not received

There is no letter, email or mail, for DM. For the oath, you will first see the update on the new tracker, and receive and email letter (if you provided one with your application) with the details.
Hi, I meant a letter in the mail for the oath not the DM. I understand there is no notification for DM. The only email I received was from the LVP Ottawa for my test so I'm hoping whatever comes next regarding the oath will come that way also. Thanks.

Ah I see, I put in an urgent request twice but didn't hear anything back. Even if It wasn't accepted, I am still wondering why I haven't heard anything after DM. It about to be three months, so I was thinking to wait a few weeks (if I'm still in the same predicament) to email them and ask for an update.

Did they respond to you?

Hi. I am scheduled for oath on 17th November. I see this update on the tracker.
Citizenship test Jun 8th
DM Aug 6th
Location: Mississauga office

How long it take to get the email invitation for the oath?

Guys, need your help/advice.

I got oath ceremony on Nov 17. I have to travel India in Dec. Can i travel with my valid Indian passport? Apply Canadian passport when i come back?

No because you cant enter, but you should get the canadian PP quickly, travel using Indian PP as it can be used for 3 months. While returning back use the Canadian PP.

Thanks for you quick response. Just another question, do you know how long it takes to get the Canadian passport once applied after my oath ceremony??

Why wouldn't he be allowed to enter? If he has a proof that he has the citizenship certificate then he should be allowed, no? You mentioned to use the Indian passport to travel and come back with Canadian. Why wouldn't he leave using the Canadian PP and come back using it?

I am just curious about the process, not saying you are wrong :)

Technically you cant fly in using citizenship certificate. Need a passport for that. He cant enter with Indian passport which requires a Visa/PR card and he is no longer eligible for that.

May be under an assumption that the OP cant obtain Canadian passport in time before leaving to India.

Normally I wouldn't comment on this, but there is already so much anxiousness flying around during this whole process for everyone.I also think there's lots of ambiguity when it comes to this subject also. If you leave Canada without your Canadian passport in-hand and use your previous passport, there is no reason why you cannot enter when you return. Granted you may have some complications, but you won't simply be turned away.

I say this because I lost my PR card in transit, when returning. Essentially, all I had was my non-canadian passport to say who I was. Instead of going straight home like I normally would, I had to see an immigration officer, who stamped my passport and let me through. She typed some things on her computer... I'm assuming she could see all of my information.

Ideally you should just wait for the Canadian passport, but sometimes that can't be a reality for some. Seek further advice, but don't rule out being able to travel altogether.

Yeah, In your case, you are still a permanent resident or your status in Canada remain the same before leaving and after entering, not anymore after taking citizenship oath.

Not sure if you are aware, India has outbound immigration check where your passport and visa for destination country is checked before you can fly out of the country. And yes, OP would be turned away at an Indian airport for traveling with Indian passport and no accompanying visa/PR card.

While the Citizen Certificate cannot be used as Travel Document to enter and exit, so with Indian Passport he wouldn't need a Visa on Canadian PP to Enter India and Vice Versa :) With the 90 day limit after citizenship, he could take this benefit.

I see some comments with Descision made update. where are you finding that information please? on my application is just shows in progress. I was told on the new tracker DM status does not appear

Hi,

Update to my application:

Both of the portals were updated for me overnight. The old one has changed to 'decision made' while the newer one now says completed for everything except the oath ceremony part which says not started. Overall the status says 'in progress'.

So DM November 2nd and language/background/physical presence all completed now. I have yet to receive an email with this update. My office is Ottawa.

What should I expect next? Thanks and keep the faith!
could you please share the link of the old portal?
