I'm from Alberta, Calgary and I have the same thing: it says BG check completed on July 15. Silence since...

Although, I'm very happy for other people getting their test invites but complaining about test dates scheduled for next year is a little bit frustrating for us who is still waiting for any movement. I'd take any update and any date without hesitation. So be grateful for what u got.

Hello Friend,
I am also from edmonton.
Applied in July 2020
Background check completed Mach 9th 2021
Last update April 23rd 2021
Nothing after that
Still waiting for test.

I have a question please, I have been scheduled for Citizenship Oath March 2022. Can I apply for Passport booklet now? Or when can I apply for it?
Or must it be after the Oath?
Please advise.

You must submit citizenship certificate, which you will receive post oath, with your passport application.

So it means I have to take the Oath first, then use the certificate to apply for Passport. Ok, thanks, but I have seen YouTube videos of people taking Oath with their Passports in hand. I'm wondering how they did that.

My only concern with my citizenship application is that I took a lot of day trips to the US side. While moving from Toronto to Vancouver I lost my exit/entry journal. I reached out to the US Customs Border Patrol for a list of my entries on that side and guestimated the entries. At some points of entry I'd be in line at the border around 11:30 and officially crossed into Canada after midnight, making it the next day. Without my journal those days couldn't be verified. But for overnight stays the time 'out of Canada" is about 8 days out of 1600+ days.

As of right now, only language, prohibitions, and physical presence, are the only things in progress. Test and background check are complete.

MORAL OF STORY: Please log your times accurately and keep that log in a safe place. Use a notebook, planner, or you can download one from immigration here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio.../eligibility/record-trips-outside-canada.html

It’s a good practice in general but you can view your USA exit/entry record online.

If there is a pending application for a PR card renewal along with the citizenship application which one would be prioritized first? Will the PR application delay the citizenship application?

There is no priority. Any of those can be processed AFAIK

Hi,

I applied for my citizenship and PR card renewal at the exact same time July 2020. I got my card by October last year. So the answer is your PR card renewal will move a lot faster in most cases as it's a renewal where as the citizenship is giving you something you don't have already. In my opinion being able to renew your card successfully can only help your citizenship application as certain common criteria will be assessed for both applications. So having recently gotten a successful renewal should indicate a successful citizenship application and perhaps the systems will have that information updated and visible to the agents working on your citizenship file.
