What is the wait time for the citizenship ceremony? Citizenship test status updated to complete on July 09. It has been more than one month I have not heard anything back about the citizenship ceremony.

Is anyone else in the same boat?

I've updated the spreadsheet.

To avoid disappointment, expect it'll take 3 - 5 months from "Test Completed" date to receive a oath notification. A lot of applicants are now getting DM so you might receive a DM in the near future.

DM = Decision Made.

Good luck.

Hi
My ECAS status shows “Decision Made”
Dashboard shows everything to “Completed” only citizenship ceremony “Not started”
Test taken June 14
Test completed June 22

Can we expect oath anytime soon from here?

The response I got from immigration through my MP was that my file was transferred from Nova Scotia to Ottawa in May 21 (12 months later). Since then, nothing.
Its certainly frustrating, the wait game. But, be rested in knowing you aren't the only one. Its coming, fingers crossed for you!

Do you think a week is enough time to study for the test, the time is looming...
They are giving 3 full weeks(apart from you would get few days addition to 21 days since you would get notified ahead of those 3 week period).
So you can take all the time you need to prepare.
People give it in few days or a week or 2 weeks. It depends on how much time you dedicate per day and how much you are focused on preparing and your memory power.
If you are studying it as a part time task then one week might not be enough, at least it was for me with confusion among dates and names at the end of week1. So second week things became clear after giving more mock up tests. But preparing ahead seems unnecessary because we dont know when the invite will come as we are being given 3 weeks anyway(which is more than enough).

Expect it'll take at least a couple of months to receive an oath notification (but it could happen sooner).

Good luck!

Hi all

Need advice.

In the last 40 months, my family is in Canada for 38 months. For sure they are eligible for filing citizenship.
They travelled to Muscat, Oman for 2 months out of these 40 months.
before that they were in Muscat on family resident visa.

My Question follows:

  • In Muscat entry/Exit stamps are in dual language (Arabic and English). Do i need transaltion of that
  • In Muscat Visa stamp on passport is in dual language (Arabic/ English). Di i need translation
  • Some one told me that you have to make all these transations and make a summary report from the authorised translatorin canada to make ease for CIC officer to calculate their days presence in Canada, otherwise they may return mack your application. Is it mandatory
Please advice

Hi

If stap has English, you do mot need to translate it.

Physical presence calculation is your travel summary, you do not need anything else

My wife recently applied for citizenship. There was a question whether she filed taxes in the last 5 years. She did for 2017, 2018 and 2019 and she marked as yes for both required to file and taxes filed. This was done with help from CRA. However did she also have to mention 2016 and 2015. She immigrated to Canada in August of 2017. Was never in Canada before that. So she only mentioned those 3 years.

Looking for anyone with same experience to answer. If they got AOR.
I want to chat with you regarding incometax returns for my wife also. I am not in caanda and my wife and kids stay there. Please advice
