When they sent test invites they asking to take test at specific time and date? for example : April 19th 10:00 Am.

Or they just sent time period eg: April 19-26. And you can finish test at any time and day that its convenient for you?

It's a time period and you can do test when you want, be if after business hours or on non working days.

I received my GCMS notes this morning after 30 days. Here is the status:

Knowledge: Not Started
Residence: Not Started
Language: Not Started
Prohibition: Not Started
Security: Blank
Criminality: In Progress
Oath: Not Started
Paper File: Mississauga
Secondary Office: GTA-CEN IRCC
Location: Test Pending Clearance
Due Date: October 2021

Two weeks back I received FP request which were done last week. What do you think about location? Is it only criminality clearance which is holding the file in this location and once done it will be moved to "Pending for Test"?

The Due date of Oct 2021 is for the test or for the process to complete(Decision made). My file would also be in Mississauga as I live there so i can assume a similar timeline maybe. I have not got an FP request though

Are some of these checks done after the citizenship test, because there is a considerable delay from test pass, to decision made to Oath.
Also there seems to be some checks post decision made...

Hi,

Mostly its not but some people got FP request after test as well. Usually the delay is only due to back log. One has to be in que for decision made as some one has to confirm the test, that all is ok. Once Decision is made, then file goes to next que, which is for Oath ceremony and so on. That is only my opinion which can be wrong as well.

Yeah bureaucracy in this Citizenship process is very high You would think in this day of age they should only put your last name in the computer and everything should be clear and verified in 5minutes.

But apparently there is a lot of different departments, offices, ques, lockdowns, backlogs ect. Its going very slow but at least its moving, so hopefully we will finish this journey this year

Gov and corp entities in Canada are built on bureaucracy, you would be amazed that the whole job doesn't take more than a week to finish but to justify hiring people and their pay then they need to create tens of layers (they call it process improvement) that slows down everything and costs more.

That said, nothing will change so we have no option rather than waiting.

My application is in progress but I had a quick question and need suggestion on what should I do. I became PR on 02/13/2018 but before this I was on visitor visa from 07/20/2017 to 01/20/2018 which I did put it in form and I had already applied to extend visitor visa before it expired. My question is as I have not put anything in 01/21/2018 to 02/12/2018 will there be any issue or should I write a letter to explain it. Please any suggestion would be much appreciated. Thanks

Not an expert on this and not sure where in the application this 'gap' is but while awaiting a decision you are on implied status and the previous visa you are on is valid until a decision is made on whatever you have applied for. So if this was part of your citizenship and you have to account for every day with no gaps, I would imagine you may need to address a gap like this. I'm sure another member will chime in on this.

Thanks for your reply Mutenye. My visitor visa was valid till 20th January 2018, This was my last status before becoming a PR.. But I became PR on 13th Feb 2018. It doesn't affect my physical presence because it already shows 1137 days with out adding this time.

A good friend of mine who applied in August 2020 from Toronto just got her test invite this morning. She received AOR at the end of January.

No. You just need to wait
