I have received an email from CIC-Etobicoke-Landings@cic.gc.ca Is that all i get for COPR?
I want to renew my OHIP (Ontario health card). Is the email printout enough to prove my status as Permanent Resident?

No, nothing in the mail.

Yes, the email printout is the COPR and it will suffice for OHIP processing

Additional documents asked for family information on march 9 and submitted in march 10.
How long it take to proceeds and get copr after that anyone has any idea?? Nothing is changed ever since on online portal

My AOR is July 28. I got the request for the family info in mid-Sept (form IMM something I don't remember the number) and I submitted it within 2 days. No update since Sept 21. Are you CEC or PNP?

Your COPR is your proof of PR status in Canada and it should matter, specially for health card since that is done by Province and they do not deal with immigration, which is the prerogative of the federal government.

If you had issues, you should contact IRCC to have it corrected.

If you had a different UCI number for an earlier application and a different one was issued for the PR application, then most likely IRCC would have consolidated them and the one you see on your COPR will be the effective one.


As per IRCC household is defined as:
Household: If there is more than one UCI for the same client, this is a data integrity issue. As there is no way to delete a record from GCMS once it is promoted, the UCIs must be linked by performing a household. When a household is done, the multiple IDs will still exist but they will be linked together.

If you do not have more than one UCI, then after verification, your application will be promoted, i.e. processed further. Many PNP applications are parked for this verification.

There is no specific timeframe, but if you see approved in your MyCIC account, then within a few days.

I called IRCC again they told me the status was the same, nothing changed. But I swear I saw a GU. I am totally confused right now

There is nothing to be confused. Its a good thing that all stages are passed. Once your COPR is generated, you will see the number on your MyCIC account.

It is just a matter of time before you get a final decision.

They said eligibility in process and security not start...I do have two GU, then nothing changed...the status was same after 2nd GU... Then what is the 2nd GU for?

The GU just indicates a movement in the file. No one can predict what it means. It can be a mundane movement of transferring your file to another office or a major one of passing a stage.

GU also is not an official immigration vocabulary. To know what triggered GU, you can send a webform to request your GCMS notes.
