Hi guys I need your help ASAP. Do you know if I need to learn Canadian Anthem for the day when I will have my test? Or do I need to learn it for Oath Ceremony? And are they going to check us all how well we know it?

Please update our status:

Decision Made: Jan 14, 2020

Test passed on Jan 13, interviewer told us we should expect oath invitation by end of Mar.

Thanks.

Hi all
I just checked my ecas and it said
We sent you a notice on January 13, 2020 to appear and write the citizenship test on January 31, 2020 at 10:00 AM.

But until now Jan 14, I didn't receive any email. So how long i will receive the email notice? I am sure the email address is correct as I received the AOR before.

Any comment? Do I need to call CIC?
Awesome! It means I would receive mine very soon! Check your spam folder once again and if you didn't find it there I think it is better to wait until Friday and if you didn't receive your email then call CIC.;)

No need to learn the National Anthem for citizenship test. It is not required for the oath ceremony as well. You only need to stand and show the respect to the anthem when they sing. But I would suggest you to learn both English and Bilingual versions. They would be using mostly bilingual version during the oath taking ceremony (bilingual with English first version in all provinces and territories except Quebec, bilingual with French first version in Quebec).

Sorry but you do have to sing at the oath ceremony!!!

Oh really!! Now I'm wondering if I should even bother lol
you probably should. just in case they do invite you during the time you are away, then trying to reschedule is probably longer wait, guessing by what others said in the forum. but I guess it is up to you at the end of the day.

On the off-chance anyone doesn't get citizenship, I'm wondering does anyone know how soon they would send the letter of refusal after the test/interview?

Hi!
Just to let you know, my ecas said they sent the notice Dec 17, but I received the email by Dec 30. I just didn’t check my ecas so I didn’t know that I would be expecting it close to Dec 17. Even my notice to appear was dated Dec 30. Just sharing.
