Hi,i received a letter saying that my husband’s application has been forwarded to the visa office in manila.would it be a good sign?what will be the next step and how long will it take?Welcome to Family Class Sponsorship JULY 2018 thread - OUTLAND
Hi,
Feel free to ask questions, share thoughts and seek advice.
What happens after submitting my application?
If your application is complete, you will receive Acknoledgment of Receipt (AOR1) whithin 60 days, usually 45 to 56 days via email.
Then, if eligible, the sponsor will receive the Sponsor Approval email(SA) which contains the UCI (Unique Client ID) and application number to use for tracking the status of the application.
Then, if not submitted with the application:
1. Police Check Certificate Request(PCC)
2. Medical Exam Request
3. Request to pay for PR Card (RPRF)
4. Request to submit additional documents, 5. Request for any additional documents that were missing from your application.
At this stage, you can check the status of your application online(ECAS) or link your application to GCKEY.
Then you might receive a file transfer email to the Local Visa Office(VO).
God speed

In the past; I was successful in talking to a person to speak to an agent, I did this:- navigate through the automated messages by pressing 3-4-1-0.some one from the group suggested this, But when I tried it asks for application# which I dont have

Yeah agree calling is not going to improve the processing time..However, it would be better to get a confirmation, if the documents submitted are good enough. If any additional documents we can immediately act, rather than waiting2 1 1 0
7 weeks and not hearing anything is not at all abnormal or uncommon, I honestly wouldn't waste your time calling just yet.
My husband called and they said they haven't received the file yet. Whereas, it has been 45+ days that our agent sent the file to the immigration. Am so so so perplexed.2 1 1 0

Of course, that's a good sign! Do you mind sharing when your application was received and when you got your AOR1?Hi, im sposoring my husband and received a letter saying that his application has been forwarded to the visa office in manila, philippines.would it be a good sign?
You should probably check with your consultant/representative. Did they send it via courier or Canada Post? There should be a tracking number that you can check. My husband called and they said they haven't received the file yet. Whereas, it has been 45+ days that our agent sent the file to the immigration. Could be. What info did they ask you to check your identity? When I called the other day, the agent asked for my UCI and date of birth. I think she already saw our application at that point but she confirmed if the address and contact info that they have on file is correct.Yes, I just called the rep and asked about it. Hopefully, should have some info by end of the day. But, I was wondering that what if the customer care executive made a mistake while passing the info. What do you think?

If you want, you can try calling again and see if you will get connected with a different agent.
