We probably got the same lady, that’s exactly what she told me. BUT I said, I KNOW THAT! I wouldn’t phone you and get 20 minutes out of my time if the background checks are also showing on ECAS. And that’s when she change her tone. She checked both of our ID #s (me and my son) and told me both background checks are done.

Then I asked another question, Will I be getting the test invite soon? She said , I’ll check here, then mentioned January 18.

Just be firm when you call.
Wow I guess I was too soft! Lol

Thank you very much for the feedback. I will try again in the morning and post an update to see how it went.

Cheers!

Hi everyone,

Do we have to take our original expired work and study permits as well to the citizenship test/interview? Unfortunately I misplaced the original ones but do have the copies. Not sure if we are required to submit the study and work visa originals as well along with passports :(
Please let me know what you all think..
Thanks!

Woohooo

Got the citizenship test invitation today, and from all the test invitations today it seems that the Edmonton office is working hard.

Hi,
no you don't need to bring any of those expired permits or visa (permits were usually taken during the landing anyway).

Yes try again tomorrow! :)
So I called again today, the guy was super nice this time. He didn't give me a date for the test but he said all or our verifications and checks were complete and that it was just a matter of waiting for them to schedule us.

We'll keep waiting I guess. Hopefully soon!

Thanks for all the help! :)

I checked my ECAS today, so the 4th line appeared.

It says though that they sent a mail Dec. 5 for the test invite which I haven't received yet.
But that's ok I guess, since I got an email yesterday.

Is this normal?

I have received second test invitation the date of issue are different the first one was emailed last Wednesday and the second just received today but the test date is the same on both attachments.

Anybody experience the same thing?

Had my exam on Dec 10th and passed it, status changed to decision made the next day. Unfortunately,my husband did not pass the exam and have to retake it, the officer told us it could take 4-8wks to have the second exam so outmr oath taking will be delayed. :( My advise is read the discovery canada atleast twice and take practice tests online. My husband underestimated it and did not take it seriously. The set of test I had is quite hard, I did not read the whole book carefully, luckily I got 16/20.

Oh no! So sorry about that! Were there a lot of dates and name questions on your test?
