Friends,

Completed our (myself and my spouse) written test for Citizenship today (passed) and the personal interview (mostly verification of your PR card, Passport, Visa stamping - entry and departure stamping etc) which went fine as well. I was told over the next 4 months timeline, we will get an invite for the Oath ceremony.

Tips : Please read the Discovery guide thoroughly and take up online tests

Admin - please update my status in the tracker. Am not able to see the tracker. Let me know if any of my details are missing and you may need them.

For those receiving test invite, will it also be an email like AOR, or will it be a hard copy?

I phoned IRCC contact centre yesterday. I asked about my background and criminal checks. The guy I spoke to said that it was started already and that there is no request for fingerprints. He said that I should have test invite soon. So hopefully it's true.

So today, Saturday, I'm reading the Discover Canada book.

It should be an email similar to the AOR one but the email id must be from CIC in your respective province

I checked my ecas and it says the application started processing from Nov 13. I was wondering typically how long it takes to get a test invite once they start processing your application? Also, I am travelling out of canada for 1 week from Dec 17-Dec 25th. I was wondering if I should let IRCC know about my travel plans or will I be able to choose an alternate test date if the test date they provide happen to fall during my vacation time?

You will be so lucky to have the Test invite in 2018, even if you have it it will be at least 2 weeks from the receiving date so I don't see any chance that you will have your test scheduled before 2019.If I were you I wouldn't worry at all about my trip

After IP it could take 2-4 months some cases even 5/6 months takes for test invite. Dec 17-25 you may go for vacation without worry, in my experience no possibility for test invite within this date. Also it depend processing area. Out of GTA and near GTA applicant receiving test invite super slower. other places such as Calgary, Manitoba, Edmonton, Montreal faster then some Ontario's cities.Still withing this year 0 possibility for any cities who have got IP in November. Good luck if you get invite.

There were like 60 applicants and they have scheduled 2 more test after us that means they are processing roughly around 200 applicants on scheduled test day. Test was relatively easy but I would recommend to read the book (discover Canada) thoroughly couple of times at least and do online tests. Interview only last couple of mins as our case is very straight forward, we didn't travel after landing here. As for the oath ceremony, agent informed that typically it takes up to 4 months.
