Hi friends. July applicant. One more week to july. Excited to think we will ppr next month. Stressed to see our friends who applied last two weeks of june havent received any ppr, hopefully tomorrow. I think everyone shares same feeling.

I just got a status update from my CIC profile, that my background check went from "In progress" to "Not needed at this time". Has anyone experienced this? What does this mean? Should I be worried?

Review of submitted documents
Scheduling an interview - Not needed at this time (was "in progress" before)
A background check is needed - Not needed at this time
Final decision - Not Started

nothing, nada, zilch, zero, nil any other meaning for none but the day is young (at least where I am anyway) june 15 applicant waiting for the golden email and waiting....and waiting. ..and waiting. ..you get the point

I am waiting for my PPR (medical received June 14 ) but my work permit is expiring July 11. Question- Do I need to extend my work permit or just wait for PPR .My boss told me not to do anything just wait and am of course worried.

I suggest apply for Bridge open work permit if you don't have any employer restriction.
It will cost you bucks but you will have mental peace

You will need a valid status in Canada at landing. So you probably want to apply extension of work permit.
