We received the dreaded 'need more proof your going to move' email from Ottawa today. I knew I should have included more, at least ottawa are actually processing July apps I suppose.

Hey Bruce, peaking in on this thread and saw they requested more proof of intent. I'm assuming this is going to happen to us too. May I ask what you submitted, and what you plan to further submit?

Well we had already submitted a letter basically offering my other half a job (shes the sponsor) as well as a letter from her parents stating we would be staying with them. However, we're getting a bunch of our friends in Toronto to write letters and her sisters, along with email correspondence we've had with them over the last year talking about us moving. We didnt include details of her bank account she still has with CIBC so we'll send that, and we also had emails between ourselves and a real estate agent whose a friend of a friend who was going to assist us getting an apartment. We also got our wee one her Canadian passport recently so we'll do a copy of that as well. Its so tricky as its difficult to do anything when you dont have approval and your living outside Canada!

Hi Kiwi123

Many congrats. Lucky you. It appears Sidney office process applications faster than London office.
I am still waiting for London Office to contact me. SA approved since Aug 8th 2014

You submitted a lot, just with the job offer alone. I feel they always ask for more proof of intent. Maybe they do that just to assure we're still making plans to move our lives in that direction.

We sent in emails with an MP, realtor, the director of CIC in Sydney, information about my husbands startup, an email correspondence with a tech company about working remotely and some truck rental quotes.

I need to start compiling more proof. I think the only thing I have to send now are some screen shots of FB posts talking about moving and maybe some receipts showing we've been to Canada twice in the past few months so my husband can actually look at where I'm moving him too ;)

Good luck!

We just sent that in December!
We attached bank statements, my cell phone bill (Thats on stay away plan so frozen until 6 monnths is up) and my pay stubs from a job I had for a couple weeks until hubbys grandmother died and we came back to states again.
Hopefully they will say SOMETHING soon. We had it arrive to CIC the 28th of December and haven't heard a whisper since.

Just received Decision Made today on ECAS. What a huge sigh of relief, can't wait for this to be over. All smiles in this house today! :D

Yeah they are so slow in Ottawa right now, fingers crossed though!

So many Visa offices are moving faster than Ottawa! Congratulations on DM!
Vienna says in CIC that it is a longer wait than Ottawa, clearly it is faster though!
Excited to see some movement at all for July apps!

Hey guys! So I finally FINALLY managed to log into my ECAS (I for some reason forgot that surname meant last name ONLY) and I notice that they don't have an apartment number listed on my address... Even though it was specifically placed on my application. I'm from the states so I'm used to writing it like this:
123 ABC ave. APT 1
But in Canada it's:
1-123 ABC ave.
Should I have just written it as the first one? We wrote it at the second and should probably change it but we're confused as to why it isn't on there in the first place...?
Any tips?
Thanks- Cel
EDIT: Checked my husbands' ECAS, the address is right on his, but not on mine. How odd?

that's how apt #'s are addressed in canada. don't worry about it. it doesn't mean your address is wrong, or that you will have issues getting mail. it will get delivered normally.

Sorry I guess I should have mentioned that the apartment number isn't on my address on ECAS. That was the cause of my concern. Is that normal?
EDIT: I did mention that didn't I.. I feel pretty dumb right now, but my concern still stands, is that normal?

are you the sponsor or applicant? if you're the sponsor then it relly doesn't matter. if you're the applicant, then if you want, you can call the call center or send a case specific inquiry to the visa office about it. i just don't think it's that big of deal. just because that's how it looks on ecas, that's not necessarily how it's written in your file.

I am the applicant. I was just worried because it looks right on my husbands ECAS (he's my sponsor), but if you don't think it's a big deal I might go with you on that considering I KNOW we wrote it properly with apartment number included on our application. I feel a bit better about it now! Thanks for the replies by the way, you're always super helpful!

i don't think it's something to stress about. if you think you'll lose sleep over it, then send an email/call the call center. otherwise, just relax and wait for your approval.
