Where did you guys get the other UCI number for the sponsored person? I only have my wife's UCI number that was on the sponsorship approval. She is the sponsor by the way.

Thanks

I happen to get mine because I applied for visitor extension and on the visitor record that I received, my UCI was included there...

the principal applicant most likely won't get their UCI unless they have had a previous application with CIC or until the visa office contacts them for information or PPR. It is quite possible the principal applicant won't get their UCI until approval if CIC doesn't require further info or if the visa exempt applicant is waived PPR. I did not get my UCI until PPR. I'm sure if you really want to get it, you can call the cic call center. The file number works perfectly fine for applicants to check their status on ECAS.

You can also use the UCI for the sponsor. When you log in with sponsor UCI, you also see the status of the principal applicant. If your sponsor is approved, you should have received a letter or CIC can tell you that number one way or another.

yes, of course. the sponsor's uci and file number will show the applicant info. the applicant's uci will not show the sponsor's info.

So I know I asked once before, but I actually have no idea to check my ECAS. Well I do, but I haven't been able to since my husband's UCI stopped working (happened when they started my application). Anyone got any pointers on how I could go about it? It drives me kinda batty when I can't even keep up on it.

You can use the file number that's provided on your SA approval. With the file number, you'll enter the principal Applicant's information and that should work.

Also if you order the GCMS notes, you'll have your own UCI, not just your husband's and you can use that too.

I think Ottawa has ground to a halt, must be too cold to work!

Well today I received SA by letter dated Dec 31 it only took 15 days by snail mail lol I sent my application July 11but with the 2 requests for updated forms I am now a Oct applicant.and this has taken 5 months to get a SA. The application went to Havana Jan6 so just another 9 months

I landed at Vancouver Airport today, all very unexciting and sort of hard to believe it is all over now!!

Kiwi123, how did the landing go? Also, congrats.

It was very simple, although I was travelling alone with our 18 month old daughter and had just got off a flight from NZ so she didn't have the patience to wait quietly, so they let me to the front of the line. If that hadn't happened I'm not sure I would have made my connection even though I had 3.5 hours. They asked some very simple questions about address, criminal record and previous inadmissibly to countries, signed my COPR(by the way this is a very unexciting document, I was expecting something a little more official looking) and sent you on your way.
