July 2014 - Online Work Permit / Dependent Visa from outside Canada

I have same case like you.
I applied spousal open work permit for my spouse.
She applied on January 3rd 2015 . On very second day ,jan 5th , she got medical passed status.
So she ll get visa for sure now?? I am worried about it.
Please discuss ur case in detail

My spouse in studying in Canada and i have applied for OWP online on 20th Aug from Bangalore... I had my medicals way before (July) applying for OWP... on 21st Aug i got update from CIC, Review of medical results "Passed"... From there on i havent got any update or any changes.. The status is "open" and i dont see which consulate is processing my application... Can anyone let me know how many days will it take for CIC to update after reviewing the medicals?

Hi Kumar,

New Delhi Visa Office is not approving OWP for many applicants when they file online application.

if you really need OWP, starting preparing a paper application and submit in VFS Bangalore.

hi Nis,

Since you applied in Jan 3rd, its very early to decide.

From what is have seen in my experience, applying OWP online has more chances for rejection or long wait time (4 or 6 months)

If you applied by paper application, wait for 3 or 4 weeks, and follow up with VFS

Hi all I applied paper application on 22nd dec 2014. Since that till now it shows ur application is processed at vfs bangalore . I have submitted my medical with my application . Is it the tracking number the only to check the process of application?

Guys good news for me...
my wife got open work permit in 36 days

Timeline here:
Application : online on jan 3rd jan(with upfront medical)
Medical status changed to.passed on 5th jan
passport request jan 9th
it wil come in 7 business days.
i have noc c category job.
this is online..it works..i applied by myself.
before that my wife rejected 2 times and those are done by agent. Those are not.prper explained.
so guys dont waste your money. I spent 65000 rs around. And waste my time..
so i m.suggesting ..applied online..it will work for sure

Hey rifsim1216, evn i applied for SOWP on the 24th dec but without medicals..my passport already got dispatched on the 12jan but i dint get any medical request...did u get ur visa?? N wat do u thnk are my chances?

m sorry that was a mistake by me I submitted my application for spouse open work permit on 22nd January .. and it shows tht file is in process at vfs bangalore. Wat all documents you submitted?

Hello Friends

I applied for Open work permit for my wife and TRV for my son. My wife filled paper application at VFS Bangalore on 03 March 2015. The VFS people told that it will take 15 to 21 days to get visa. But still we did not hear even medical request from CIC. The status shows your application is in processing at Canda visa office Bangalore. We are now worried. Any idea since you were also on the same situation. If they take long time, is it like confirm they will issue visa?Any advice on this would be helpful.
