No it is the actual date as per Canada post. So that means they know exactly when the package arrived. (I sent it 22 of July and it arrived there on the 25th)

And they actually sent you the book or anything in mail? I have a friend who applied around the same time and nothing was sent by mail. How do you check application status without a confirmation number?

No they didnt send me the book yet .. they have a bug in the system that shows that they send the book on the day of receiving the applcation .. I already asked about this somewhere else in this forum ... they dont send the book on the same day they receive the application .. doesnt make sense :)

Thats not true .. if they sent the book on July 25th I would have already received it ... I asked about this I think in May 2014 page and I confirmed that the book will be sent months after getting your initial E-cas status (In Process) .. maybe in two or three months... Most of people in June 2014 didnt receive their book yet .. go and ask.

Hi, everyone. I checked my ECAS today, and this came up:

We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on July 29, 2014.

We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on July 29, 2014. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

We started processing your application on September 22, 2014.

Hi guys, i got my application returned today.
CIC received my case on August 1st.
In the return letter, it said 'the school records provided for yourself do not cover the 4 year period preceding the data of your application. Please send us a photocopy of school records for each of the 4 years during the relevant 4 year period.'
Here is my case
from 2010- 9 to 2011-6 , i studied outside Canada and i graduated in June 2011. Then i came back to Canada in 2011-07. I attended the master program from 2011-07 to 2014-06. I worked from 2013-09 till now.
I gave them my school records related to the degree i obtained in Canada. I sent them my transcript recoding all the courses and marks during
winter session 2011-2012,
summer session 2012,
winter session 2012-2013,
summer session 2013.
winter session 2013-2014
And i sent them my degree photocopy.
But it seems those documents are not enough at all. They even require my first year's oversea school records as well.
Could anyone help me to analyze why they return my application? I am so frustrated because it is totally futile for me to wait in the past two months. I thought cic only required the past three years' school records. Now i have to start from the beginning and then wait another two months because of such a minor issue. I am afraid i will get a second or third return in future. I am just so exhausted and tired. Fxck cic!

It's 100% your own mistake. See, you apply in August 2014. From August 2014, you count back 4 years. Means you have to give every details dated back to August 2010. If you were not in school by that time, declare it, don't leave it blank. Same also your passport, address, job, etc. Everything dated back to August 2010. Don't get angry, it's your own fault, learn from that. And most important, stay polite.

I just don't understand why they make the whole citizenship application process so tricky and inhuman. It's 2014 and still communicate via mail? Can they just check whether every application incomplete or not once it arrives there and then inform us by email? So our applicants can receive the responses ASAP instead of wasting two months and restart from 0. By the way i don't think i need to be polite to bureaucratism. I am a full-time empolyee as well. I am responsible for my job and i dedicate myself to Canada. Unlike those spoiled government employees, they earn high salary and work low efficiently. I bet those CIC employees will be definitely fired if they work in my company. So if you ask me again, i will still send the same f word to them.
