Hi guys!

I have a question to ask. I landed on Canada day, crossed the border at Niagara Falls. It was really easy and the guy didn't ask me anything.
The only thing he told me is that if I plan on travelling by air within the next 8 weeks I will have to apply for Returning residen visa as I won't have my PR card yet to prove my status. I googled it and It says on the website that you apply if you are a resident who is OUTSIDE Canada and returning to the country without a PR. They don't even have a visa office in Canada listed for this kind of visas. What do I do?Any ideas?

You can't apply for a travel document in Canada. Look for visa offices and processing time for the country you are planning to travel. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/travel.asp

Alternatively, you can ask a friend or family member to courier you the PR card but it depends on your travels. It's usually not recommended because of risk of being misplaced.

On the RPRF PDF receipt which I received the Client ID, birth date, address.. are empty, it has only my name plus receipt number.
is that normal??
should I print the PDF, fill the receipt manually & resend it? Thanks.

Before you resend the RPRF receipt I suggest call CIC at 1888-242-2100 and a CIC agent would be able to verify if they have received your RPRF.

I just filled out all the rest of the details by hand,then scanned it in. I paid upfront.

Hi,

I printed, manually entered the information and scanned and emailed the receipt to CIC. Once you email the to cost recovery you get an auto reply. Did you receive the auto reply?

Secondly when you call CIC don`t say you want to check the status of your application, rather request the agent if s/he can verify if the landing fee has been well received by CIC. It`s not going to be easy getting a helpful agent at CIC but you need to keep calling till you find an agent willing to confirm this information for you.

Yes, fill it and send it again for your satisfaction. I don't think it really matter because CIC just need to know the name of the Payer so that in case you withdraw your application or do not use the PR VISA, CIC will refund the money, and for that they need to know the payer.

Also don't forget to mention your application no. in the subject of the email which you will send to Cost Recovery email id.

Don't worry, you will get Passport request within 4-5 days of paying your RPRF

Job duties help (NOC 2232)

Hello,

I have filled my application in august 2014, under CEC. My job was mechanical technician in a design and fabrication company. I am little worried about my job duties. They are written in very short word. Can anyone one help me with this by looking Job duties of mechanical technician (NOC 2232) on Canada human resource website. My job letter has mention my salary and it also says my NOC. My job duties are as follows:

1. Work orders Distribution.
2. Reverse Engineering.
3. Take part for the installation of machinery and equipment.
4. Generates drawings using AutoCAD.
5. Detailing and sketches of jigs for manufacturing process.

can anyone help by looking at link of Canada human resource site with NOC 2232. If anyone can help i will really appreciate. If anyone filed in same category, please let me know.

Hi All,

Finally I completed my landing today.

So I did my landing at Rainbow Bridge and did the below:-

1. Took Casino Bus ( Safeway Tours ) from Downtown Toronto. ( Costs 7 bucks to and fro trip )
2. Reached FallsView Casino and from there had to walk all the way to Rainbow Bridge.
3. When you enter Rainbow Bridge you need to pay 50 cents CAD to get to the US side.
4. Again walked and reached the Border office of USA.
5. Here I explained the reason for my coming and was informed that I could do flag polling or make use of my US Visitor Visa.
6. Had to pay 6 USD for getting I94 on my Visitor Visa and was told to return it before 6 months.
7. After this I headed back exactly the way I came and in the Canadian side I was given a yellow form and redirected to another building just across the road between two parked buses.
8. My passport and COPR was taken by a security guard and he asked me enter the building and sit inside towards the right.
9. There was a counter wit around 2-3 officers working on requests.
10. Waiting for almost 30 mins and one of the guys at the Counter called my name and asked some basic questions like if I was convicted of crime,
,if I have any dependants,made me fill my address on COPR, and he even asked for bank statement which I didn't have. He then asked approx how much money I had. ( dunno why )
11. He then asked me to wait till he completes paperwork and after 30 mins calls me again asks me to initialize my name on COPR in two places and also my full signature at the bottom along with today's date.
12.Finally he gives me my copy of COPR and asks me if i have any questions for him.
13.That's it guys that's my experience of landing. This forum has been very helpful and has many a time given me lot of solace and relief.

One more thing:-

I just got my Work Permit Extension approved and till now for some reason I did not get the hard copy of the same.
I was expecting the Officer to ask me my status in Canada and maybe even ask for my Work Permit copy but they did not even mention about it.
He also scribbled something on my Immigrant Visa which I am yet to look.

I am posting my timelines below. I pray that all of you get your PR's approved ASAP.Good luck to All!!!

Passports delivered back on :- June 17th 2015.
Passports Resent and received by Ottawa due to mistake in name on VISA and COPR:- June 22nd 2015.
Amended Passport and COPR delivered back on :- July 2nd 2015.
Landing Completed on July 4th 2015.

Below are my timelines and Passport Received in Ottawa Office on June 26, 2015 and waiting for my Passport with VISA return from Ottawa Office. Any one please advise, when will I get my Passport back, I am a bit tensed and worried. Please advise.
