Folks, Under which Act it is advisable to apply for GCMS notes? there were two options -1. Right to Information - charge $5
2. Privacy Act. - Free. Currently I'm in Canada and applied under $ 5 paid option. Any difference in both? Please help advise..

Hey Jitendra,

You should have applied under Privacy Act and since you are in Canada you needn't pay anything as well.

Check the below Steps for requesting GCMS notes ( Point 10 in your case ) :-

Find below some useful info.

1. Visit https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do?lang=en
2. Scroll down and check the box "I have read, understood and agree with the above Privacy Notice." and Submit.
3. Select CIC from the drop down. (first field)
4. Select Individual/Corportation present in Canada (Second drop down)
5. Fill in your details (Self explanatory)
6. Select Member of public for "Select the category that best describes you"
7. select "E-mail" for "How would you prefer to receive the requested records" ( choose the mode you are comfortable with)
8. Continue to next page.
9. You dont need to attach any additional documents, unless you want to prove something.
10. Select Privacy Act in next page
11. Submit the final request. Once you submitted the request, wait for one month.

Thanks Clark Kent.. That was stupid of me.! I could backed off after being asked for Credit card details.. hope CIC will not misinterpret my residency location..

Relax you should be fine. I don't think it should be an issue.

Hello All,
Could you please tell me how long it will take for rprf and ppr after medicals. I have done my medical on 20th April,2015 and it was updated online on 28th. Is there any chances of rejection now?
Thank you

Depends - can be a few weeks to numerous months.

Can anyone be rejected based on eligibility or medical reason after the point where the ECAS status show "medical have been received"? I have looked everywhere but cannot find a solid answer.

Thanks

Hi somyasam,

As per my knowledge if medical conditions are harmful to Canadians, they can reject application. However definition of harmful will vary. E.g. For Ur curable issues, they can flag ur file as surveillance required.

If your medical is already received, order gcms and check by yourself.

About eligibility I can comment as m not aware of process and m not expert.

if its about eligibility sometimes the VO make mistakes so I would order GCMS note ad also go talk to your local MP if your in Canada maybe they can help to get second review on your file. about medical maybe you would want to consult a lawyer
