Guys those who received additional documents request does your status changed in CIC?

Guys looks like many people got RCMP Request today? I never submitted mine in the initial application package.

Is it important? do we need to really submit it beforehand?

Hi guys! Also received my RCMP request today. I only submitted a criminal check from my home country when i applied, so now I have to do this one.
I am just happy I heard anything from them!

Contact your local police station. For Details: www. cic .gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=857&t=25 (remove spaces)

If your wife never lived in Canada then she does not need RCMP Certificate.

I also got RCMP request today. I have already submitted Criminal Record Check with my application but they are asking one based on fingerprints. So don't know whether I need to obtain new one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Got an email requesting RCMP fingerprint check. Kindly update.
Just a clarification for the post above mine, fingerprint record check is required even if sent a PCC. I sent PCC from my local PD and India and they still asked for a fingerprint check. I am guessing people who moved frequently during their stay in Canada have been asked to provide one. But again, just guessing.

I think its good news for July applicants that CIC has started looking into our files..
So i want to request everyone who are getting these additional docs requests to post here.

I got this request today but I have submitted RCMP with my application (CIC recd date 11/Jul). Please update in excel.
Also can someone advise if it is required to get a new certificate and submit. My RCMP certificate was within 3 months period when CIC received my application.

I have submitted my RCMP after two months of application submission and not for my spouse..did not received any email today for RCMP...

I guess randomly they took some application without checking the RCMP in the file or not.

I can't underatand why CIC requests this.
When we applied, they said we needed to submit Pcc from our country other than Canada. Am I wrong?

RCMP fingerprints Record Check is for Canada: You can get it done from your city police station. Google your local police station, call and ask them. Book an appointment and get it done.
Once you get the certificate send that to CIC.

Hi iamitguy,

I did not submit PCC from my home country with the application and CIC only requested RCMP check not PCC.
should I send both or just RCMP check.
I have done PCC last month, Is that OK if I send that along with RCMP.
