hey guys, my friend who applied in May 2014 recently got a request through email asking him to provide rcmp fingerprint and Toronto police background checks. A bit of background info is that he didn't submit any background check with his original application.

Question is when you submitted your original background check, did you submit rcmp finger print?? I didn't know fingerprint was required so I only provided a regular police background check.... thanks for your reply in advance.

Hi,
although the RCMP is not required CIC can request the one later. It usually happens if their own name based screening process comes out positive, they request you to submit fingerprint based RCMP check.

Don't worry if they need they will ask you. My brother did not submit the finger prints and cic did not ask for that, he got his PR. But if you want to send you can do that for safe side.
However I did not send any canadian police clearance with my application and I will wait if cic asks or no.

I am thinking about applying for GCMS notes now/soon.

Has anybody already applied or received GCMS?

Let us know

Shouldn't be now/soon. I doubt they have touched our applications yet. I would order it once MRs have come to July applicants.

Second that.

But i don't think there will be any delay in applying for GCMS Notes? We can apply it at any stage.
I already applied mine two times and as you all have mentioned there has been not much progress.
After sending my application i separately sent my FBI clearance and Employment reference letter which i see that they have received in GCMS Notes.
I really hate this wait >:(

If you are dealing with CIC with little patience you are already losing the battle. I've lost before. ;D

can you please tell what is the point of applying gmcs notes if your file is still in process.i applied in july 09 and got aor on 3rd sep.

Benefit of applying GCMS notes is yo will roughly know the status on your file . There are many ppl who have found out notes and review comments by the VO's in the GCMS notes much prior to them receiving any communication on the same. So it will give you an idea on how far your application has been processed.

Since May applicants are still only receiving their MR's at this stage the speculation is that July applicants would receive MR only by March so maybe you can request your next set of notes by March or late February.

Hope this helps.

Hey guys i find i may have put myself in a potentially detrimental situation.

For a couple of months back in 2013 i did a shift a week at a bar my friend worked to help out. They usually just paid me in cash. When it came to filling out my application i completely forgot and didn't mention i worked there for a very short time.

Anyway today when i spoke to the CRA about another issue I'm having (i forgot to submit my NOA with my initial application documents) they informed me that i owed tax from that job. I have now paid that and the guy from the CRA said there was no issue from their end, but will CIC have issue with it? Do i need to inform them about it?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Everyone,

I have accepted a new job offer, so my employer has changed. How would I notify CIC. In the email they mentioned to email them in "CIO-Sydney-Search-Enquiry@cic.gc.ca" about any changes in status. I am just wondering is it the right way to do it and what documents I have to provide them as proof. Any help is really appreciated. Thanks.

Doubt this will affect your application at all if CIC is okay with your application lacking NOA.

Hi,
you can notify CIC about your new employer after receiving the AOR here: CPC-CTD-Ottawa @ cic.gc.ca
If you still don't have any AOR wait until you get it.

@ hahamylove

do you think i should hold off from sending my NOA? or wait for them to request it?

And +1 for your help
