Great news! Our passport return tracker just got activated! We should get the passports back in 3-4 days since we are in Edmonton now. If we get it before this weekend... We will land over the long weekend

Almost done just need to do landing, waiting for my wife and daughters passport to get stamp with visa back home. This forum
help me allot and hoping for all applicant to get your permanent residency also , Good luck to all !!!

Sorry for the late reply, good to hear that your almost done also. I did not go to Carway last week
the reason why is I'am still waiting for my dependants passport get stamp first in the Philippines as per
instruction of CIC Ottawa before doing my landing here. It's already 10 days tommorow and they are still waiting to get it back from the canadian embassy Manila (Philippines).

Can you please tell me which service Ontario location you went to renew your OHIP card. Desperately waiting for the PPR. Our OHIP cards are expiring on the 18th of this month. Please let me know.

Did you not apply for BOWP?
I suggest you do so considering the tight dates.

Your OHIP should expire the same day as your temporary status in Canada does.

If you are in a situation where your temporary status will expire before your landing (never mind PPR which could take up to 2 weeks further to complete), you should apply for a BOWP which you are entitled to so long as you have received your AOR on the CEC application. Once you have the BOWP, you will be able to renew the OHIP to the new expiry date as shown on the BOWP.

Thanks a lot for the replies. It might take Atleast 4 more weeks for my BOWP. Did anyone of you apply for the OHIP extension with the AOR. I saw some posts previously where some of you did that and was given OHIP extension.

BOWP processing is just 1-2 weeks (there was a May 2 applicant that got approved this Tue).
CIC's posted average processing time is 13 calendar days.
Note: these are for online applications.

If you do it tom or this Friday, you may get the result by end-May give or take. This is enough for you to renew the OHIP. I haven't heard of AOR as a means to renew OHIP.

I would think the AOR is not enough for OHIP. You must prove, through 3 separate documents:

1. Proof of Canadian citizenship or ongoing legal immigration status
2. Proof of Ontario residency and address
3. Proof of Photo Identity

The AOR does not prove any ongoing status, just that CIC currently has an application in your name.

Thanks all for the replies. I applied for the BOWP ( paper application) in the third week of April. Should receive an answer sometime soon. My wife was diagnosed with Lymphadenopathy during immigration medicals. Do you think the immigration Canada is delaying our PR because of that. Did anyone else go through a similar situation or any medical conditions and what was the outcome of your application? Please let me know. This forum has been very , very helpful. Thanks all.

Dear immigrant fellows, finally i landed yesterday at Abbotsford-Huntington border around 11.30 pm It was a simple procedure ever...border officers in both sides are welcoming and quickly responding. Thanks again for this Canada visa forum and all the great forum members. Best of luck for everyone who is waiting for something
