Any insights or opinions on whether it means this is for all applications received by 27th or it actually means Lot are still pending on the table....

Anxious as my agent sent my application last week only......

AT THIS POINT OF TIME ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN................JUST KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED AND KEEP AN EYE ON UPDATED CAPS AND ON CC OR BD PAYMENTS

Any mathematical genius around to predict the next cap update.

Week 1 52
Week 2 187
Week 3...

Anxiety makes u do weird stuff....isn't

I don't understand why did CIC cash only 3 credit cards? Ok, let's assume that they cashed 25 more from users which are not logged on this forum. It is still not clear how can any of 413 applications be complete if CC or DD or BD is not cashed?

Just 2 maybe for this forum...for 1122 itself there are 187 applications. This means there are lot more applicants other than the forum. Hope we hear from some others in a day or two.

A bit of math here. I just went through the spread sheet for applicants after 26 June 2010. I found a total of 515 forum members in the spread sheet where as 13000/20000 were received last year by CIO. Looking at this I understand that less than 3% of the applicants are forum members. Now, I looked at applicants send in July 2011 spread sheet. I see about 70 forum members have sent out their applications which means the CIO could have roughly received 2333 applications. Only 3 cc charged out of 413 completed by CIO. Sorry, if I am confusing. Does this make any sense so far?

As people have been mentioning on several threads, agencies have sent hundreds of applications since July 1st. There are people basically collecting immigration files by the bucket load and shipping them off to CIO. I doubt very much that the applicants who used agencies are logging on to forums or are doing rigorous internet research like us folk.

If you think about it, the process is so straight forward it seems almost insane to pay (in some cases) upto $5000 for some one to just put your papers together for you.

The prime target for these agencies are upper level middle aged executives who do not have the time to research and apply, or sit through the monotony of form filling and document gathering. I personally know of several well to do individuals who have paid exorbitant sums of money to immigration "experts" just to get the job done.

In short, the 187 complete applications are probably a small percentage of the total they have already received. Last year, the Cap (for NOC 1122) was 1,000 and it filled up in 4 months. Going by that ratio, we can expect this year's cap to reach its limit by the end of August.

I think only a fraction of all applicants will take the time to do web research and join forums to gather / share information.

Forcaborca-- Thanks for the answers!! u left blank in those fields or wrote "NONE" OR "N/A" there. In my application I think, at one or two places i forgot to write none or n/a and left the blank. I am afraid!

I don't think you need to be afraid of leaving a question blank if it is not relevant to your case.

Remember, the immigration officers are not like examiners. They don't penalize you for all your mistakes.

Only certain things can cause your application harm.

Penalizing an applicant for leaving a non-applicable field blank is too harsh, especially for a Canadian society which wishes to encourage immigration of skilled individuals.

Don't get too stressed! Good luck!

I enjoyed your math work! Although your assumption that ratios similar to last year apply to this year's applicant pool is not entirely scientific, it is nevertheless a useful starting point with which to project application trends.

Assuming that you are correct plus or minus 200 applications, then chances are the CIO has received (roughly) between 2000 and 2500 applications so far.

If we take the maximum possibility, then:

413 completed / 2500 received = 16.52% complete applications received and payment subsequently encashed (total applications)

If we now turn our attention to those who have posted on the forum

3 completed / 70 received = 4.285% completion rate

As you stated, the ratio seems to be very low, and my conclusion, as I have said in other posts as well, is that we are likely to hear of quite a few payments being encashed in the coming weeks. Remember that those who paid by Bank Draft will hear a couple of days later (perhaps even a week later).

You may also look at it this way:

3/413 which is <1% of the applicants are forum members. Its really scary. :o I don't know if I will make it to the cap. Anyways, all the best to you guys.

If you are applying at an office outside Canada

You can find information on fee payment methods at the website of the visa office (immigration applications) or the Canadian embassy, high commission or consulate (proof of citizenship applications) responsible for your area. Visa and consular offices cannot accept receipts for fees paid in Canada.

Note: Personal cheques are not accepted as payment.

by certified cheque, bank draft or money order made payable to the “Receiver General for Canada” or
with a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express)
