Dear everyone...

Anyone could suggest me the best way to carry the funds from India to Canada..?

I am confused between D.D. and travellers cheque

which would be the cheapest way..? and which bank or organization..??

please give your valuable suggestions...!!

I am at the edge of filing bankruptcy as most of savings been spent on shopping and everything...so if you can save a single penny of mine by your valuable advise I would be really thankful to you and honestly speaking I am totally unaware about this forax stuff..!!

What about thomas cook ?? travellers cheque ??

thank you advance :) :)

I breezed through the last 35+ pages since last time. Sorry if I missed out on anyone.

Big Congratulations! to Kinjal, Abhishek, Timhortons, Wandering soul, advanta, shijoal, vnca, SmGrGe. for the big news & congratulations to me as well...hehe.

Big Thank you! to sidestep4u, Mitesh Kapadia, Mr. Engineer, Abhisekh, advanta, Big O, madhu yadav, spicey, msamoh, YH, now, Ravi, joydhaka, chekav, fazeme.

We went for Baba's darshan owing to long weekend. It was like we went there to get the big news. After checking mails, my husband just happened to check CAS, late at night although he never does so as often as me . I was fast asleep at the time & was woken up to DM news. It had happened the same way with PER. I guess while waiting I should just sleep more...hehe.

@ Abhi, please check for me the mailing date (the PO ink stamp) on the CHC envelope. It took 3+ days for Delhi if your visa stamp date & mailing date are same , just want to contemplate how long it should take to reach to Mumbai. See you in Canada. Thanks.

@ now, Please don't worry 90% of PERs eventually turn into PR sooner or later. We are waiting LVO. Listen up!

@ YH, I told you , you are through after your CAS was updated with Meds line. Only few days more.

@ spicey, please keep tab of the latest news on Canada immigration & keep your set ready in June. You'll make it as you are not the one who will give up, buddy. All the best to you.

@ Ravi, There's no harm in writing a polite CSE requesting status. They take around 3 weeks to reply. Sometimes writing one triggers them to look up your file. I hope you get your MR soon.

My prayers with all of you. Good luck & Good night everyone. I am exhausted after the long drive. Catch you later.

Jai Sai Ram.

as far as I know (do verify though), u can open a bank account in Scotia Bank of Canada from India, deposit the POF in there, take a statement and u are good to go. at POE only that bank statement will do.

i totally agree with mute-man's decision regarding POF carrying.
check with branch is available at ur place. if somebody has a link to scotia bank, kindly publish it.

yes brother Scotia bank option is there..
but If I go to nearest Scotia bank branch from my home travelling will eat up minimum 3000 INR :(
and I did inquire that physical presence is must to open an account.. ???
additional 1400 INR conversion charges.. :(
In addition to that it takes minimum 15-20 days to open an account :(
and I am planning to land within 15 days of receiving my Passport..

So all dear foreign travel experts
Please suggest something..
