Greetings from Toronto! Thanks my dear RKC for the announcement. I was actually relieved that it has stopped snowing here because... guess what?... I accidentally left my winter coat in the car on my way to the airport! hahaha.

I have already settled in. Yesterday, after a quick 10-minute shower I was already in the subway on my way to downtown. I went to the CN tower, university of Toronto, Chinatown, and the Eaton Centre to buy a..... coat! It is still very cold especially when the wind blows. I had my first Tim Horton's cup of coffee at the branch outside Ryerson university.

See you all here. It's not an intimidating place. There are lots of asians. It's really a muticultural society that you will find in this place.

It's 4:30 am here. gotta sleep first. good night!

oh btw, i just want to say, the immig process when you land is like 5 minutes and then you are out the door with your signed confirmation of permanent residency.

First, save the number and assign a special ringtone to it so you'de answer it next time :'(
Try calling back and send another email. Obviously, whatever you did got their attention so you have to do it again... But wait till after office hours to do so as they might call back.

Please update us, Once this story comes to an end!

Good night my friend, enjoy your first night in Canada!
Congrats on your new coat and your first coffee! Everything is worth celebrating now so by all means do so to the fullest, embrase it and enjoy it.

Do send us an update on the landing process, we would like to hear about it and I am sure it will help us a lot.
Once more, enjoy!

Can someone guide me : I do have a account in TD (canada trust) in toronto. Can i show $14000 proof of funds in my account of Td in toronto. I was on a student visa in canada for 14 months thats why i am holding an account over there. Now i m landing as a immigrant in 2 weeks. I want advice of our senior forum members, my friend would deposit the money in my account in toronto. How can i show this money to the immigration officer at the airport. I do have a debit card of TD bank with me. Would a bank statement of current date would be enough to satisfy the officer that I am holding enough funds to land in canada.

Please help me out guys.

Regards,
Ravi

Hi Ravi

Thew best way is to get a DD done for the required funds ( it can even be a TD draft) but the only way to show your funds there is DD. I also thought of getting a statement of my TD account but then consulted a lawyer there who suggested to get a DD done just to avoid any problem at the last minute! Play safe buddy!

Hi Timhortons,

Do u have any idea would TD bank charge any fees if we deposit any international draft in our account. I am planning to take a draft from here in India.
