@ LVO applicants

There is a lot of activity observed for the pre-June applications on other threads .... some are getting started processing date, some MR, and some rejections too. Apart from a few extremely luckily MI3 applicants who have already got their MR, the rest of us are probably undergoing background checks. May be this step was skipped for those lucky applicants and hence they got their next steps so fast.

I believe our MI3 applications are sent for background checks with a BFD put on our file ...... in the mean time they are processing for those pre-June applications whose background check results have been obtained. This activity will go on until our BFD, post which they will shift from pre-June files to the current MI3 files and clear our lot, all in a short period of time, I hope. I know all of us are desperately waiting for our MR and wondering when will that happen, I believe the answer lies in our BFD put on the file. That is why I have applied for the GCMS notes to get a clear picture of when to expect to hear from them. I am tired of checking my E-CAS every hour or so, and tired of answering my wife " no change yet " when she asks me every half hour :-)

I am sharing this so that some of you may consider getting your GCMS notes to know when will be the next movement on your file. I also find this useful as we do not get an AOR from LVO and this is another way of getting to know when they received our file from CIO and when did they calculate our points and how much is it, and any other comments that will be logged on our file. Also if any of us are to be interviewd, this will give us a heads up and time to prepare. Once they send the interview date the time is too short and in most cases not enough to aquire the GCMS notes in that time frame. In fact I am thinking of continously applying for GCMS notes as I receive the previous one to keep track of the progress.

Good luck to all!

This is a brilliant piece of information, but I most confess am not completely clear about the entire content. For example, what do you mean by BDF and GCMS, How do one get access to the so call GCMS.

Please educate do of us who are ignorant of this.

Proof of Landing Funds email reply from CHC - New Delhi, India

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi.

The amount of funds you need to have in order to settle in Canada depends on the size of your family. The funds must be available to you and transferable to Canada. They must be unencumbered by debts or other obligations.

Number of family members
Funds required
1 - $11,086
2 - $13,801
3 - $16,967
4 - $20,599
5 - $23,364
6 - $26,350
7 or more - $29,337

Acceptable proof of funds are:

-bank accounts in your name or the name of your accompanying spouse/common-law partner;
-cashable investments in your name or the name of your accompanying spouse/common-law partner;
-cashable fixed deposits in your name of the name of your accompanying spouse/common-law partner.

Not acceptable are:

-bank accounts in someone else's name;
-bank accounts which are joint in your name and someone else (other than your accompanying spouse/common-law partner);
-bank accounts in the name of your spouse who is not accompanying you to Canada;
-property valuations;
-vehicle valuations;
-jewellery valuations.

You are not required to carry your funds in cash when you arrive in Canada. You are, however, required to show documentary evidence that you have the funds available (in bank accounts or cashable investments), and that they can be transferred to Canada.

A port of entry officer in Canada may seek to confirm these funds before granting you permanent residence along with your dependants. (was in indirect form in this sentence only).

If you have arranged employment in Canada, you do not have to meet these financial requirements. Arranged employment means that you have an offer of indeterminate employment from an employer in Canada. You must be either currently working in that employment on a work permit in Canada, or have been issued a labour market opinion has must have been provided by the Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC). In order to be exempt from the minimum funds requirement, the offer of employment must be genuine, the employment must not part-time or seasonal, the wages offered must be consistent with the prevailing wage rate for the occupation, and the working conditions must meet generally accepted Canadian standards.

after going through this email which was received by abhishek, I am very afraid....
I have sent govt. approved property valuation certificates (property valuation in total is close to 50-60 lacks) to CIC, sydney as a Proof of fund bcs .
Majority of my funds I have declared by property valuation certificates (bcs these properties are for investment purpose only and can be encashed any time)....
only 2 - 2.5 lacks I have declared with Bank fixed deposits....bcs I was under impression that CIC will allow these property valuation as well....
now I am very affraid after going through this email....
becuase in this email, NDVO have stated that property valuations are not acceptable.....
so now what will hpn...?
I have already submited my medicals, PPR and RPRF to NDVO.....
I can arrange this fund in a form of fixed deposits in couple of days.....and can send it to them....
but what you guys think....?
will they revert to me regarding this.....and will ask for explanation...?
or they can even straight away reject my file.....

also want to know when they exactly check this..Proof of Funds.....?means at which stage of process....?

Hey guys,
I am new to this forum. I am applying under the FSW category and got my medical requests on Feb 21st. my visa office is NDVO.
Need to clarify 3 things -
1. for the RPRF can we enclose a single draft for me and my wife for Rs.45080 or we need to send 2 seperate drafts for 22540 each?
2. My wife had tb in 1998 and she was treated for the same but her chest xray shows scarring. She has not had any problem since. Would it be advisable to get a CT scan done and take it with me when i go for medicals or i should wait for them to request one.
Is there anyone on this forum who had a similar problem but was not asked for re-medicals?
3. Is it advisable to take medical fitness certificates from my physician.
please advise.
