Hi everyone,
I have been going through this forum and came to know that it is illegal to mail passport overseas. Is it just illegal in case of mailing from Canada or any other country too?

I am currently residing in United States. I inquires the courier services like UPS and FedEx and they told me that they do mail passports to other countries and there is nothing illegal in it.

What you guys think?

Congratulation nsandhu1 !!!

Ahh... I forgot to tell you guys one information that I found on mycandavisa.com about 2 months ago.

They have posted a statement that ,this march 31, Case processing center in Vienna will be closed for pocessing Quebec applications and it will be moved to Montreal.

This might affect the process of federal application and the activity of all Europe VO's...?

Maybe this is the reason for all the delays....?

I think this might influence only Quebec applicants (and may be in a good way), not other european VOs. Actually some of them are pretty quick even now, and could compete even with Manila, like I know from the other forum that Kiev started issuing MI3 visas in early January.

Atleast for Indian Passports, it is illegal to send passport outside country of residence. Please do not get yourself into trouble. You can however take the risk of sending it if you still want to. If I were you, I will not do it. I know about a case where the courier was caught at customs and hell follows. For me, better safe than sorry.

Hearty congratulations on your MR/PPR nsandhu1

Thanks for informing me about that!!!! Now, it is such a complicated situation. I am doing my masters over here and it is so busy. I don't see any possibility in going to India on my own! Really don't know what should I do.

Agent saved my time initially did all the xerox, attestation, formalities etc but they don't take due diligence for their clients following up CIC or CHC... My fault again i paid him upfront.. Never mind Lucky mystery All is well that ends well..

The alternative is to send the passport with a friend or relative who is travelling to India. Your passport should accompany a notarized authorization letter signed by you. They can then post it to NDVO in India. Please find someone whom you trust. At the same time, you should also give a local address in India where your passport can be returned to. In this case, you will have to change your mailing address using case specific enquiry.

Hi friends
With profound happiness and million thanks to God I received my MR/RPRF/PP request. My agent was sleeping on his job as he received the mail in his inbox on Feb 1, 2012 but passed it on to me today.
I would also like to thank my friends on this forum who have helped me in thick or thin phases since July 2011.
I wish luck to my friends waiting for PER/Medicals.
God bless!!

Congratulations!
