Dear Friend,
Is it just a file number or PER. you can check the status of your application in www.cic.gc.ca with that number. Share what it says. Then frieds will advise you appropriately.
Sincerely

My application was received by CIC on 30th sep 2011. When i can expect PER? When i should enquire my bank regarding BD encashment? I did last week it was not encashed.

Seniors plz comment!!! :) :) :) :)

Must probably two weeks or may be one and helf weeks from now. That is the trend so far.

Ovais...as far as my knowledge goes, last year (MI2) applicants did not get "FINAL" determination from CIO. They got only an AOR (ack of receipt).

They had to follow VO specific document checklist and they also had to send their documents to VO directly. So that goes to sat that:
1) They couldn't have performed a final eligibility test at CIO without VO's recommendation
2) The process wasn't as centralised as it is this year.

This is my personal opinion.

Your Highness! Let me share my own experience as I was busy sending and receiving back documents under MI-2 last year. I did follow the checklist for specific Visa Office (London) but all the correspondence was made with the CIO, Sydney NS and I received NER from the CIO (That was Cap Reached). I will share the exact wording later tonight (after 6-7 hours) when I check my documents at home.

thts right optimist!
i think there is not much difference between MI2 and MI3. it was MI1 where the applicant had to follow VO specific checklist.

And one more thing to add. In the beginning of MI-2, the CIO would accept only preliminary documents for processing. However, around Nov-Dec 2010 they directed the new applicants to submit application with full document package (same as current practice).

MI2 followed VO specific checklist too.
