Zelda if that's the case it's good news for all of us. Still how do we explain 'In Process' status before receiving PER.? Some members are already In Process before laying hands on their PER.

well before the immigration year started, I had heard news that to shorten the process, CIC would be eliminating some of the correspondences they'd be issuing applicants. this must be it. its a prerogative of the visa office if they would still even be issuing them...

and positive eligibility reviews might have been done long before they issue emails. (heck! they might've even mailed out the applications)... thus the uncharacteristically long wait. CIC has been known to change policies so why not processes as well? I bet the pressure of the backlog has a lot to do with it... ::)

well we're the first batch of SUPER fast track and priority applicants coz we "meet the current market needs" so hopefully we get thru this in less than 6 mos like my friend did. *cross fingers*

DISCLAIMER: all of these are just my theories based on what I had observed on news and trends. Some Official member of CIC has yet to speak up ;)

at the back of my mind, im still waiting for RBVO and 2nd AOR lol

But in other hand they might be considering TY application on FAST TRACK mode to have a very less numbers in Backtrack section to start with new process....... !! God only knows whats happening at other end.......... :) praying to listen some good news in coming days..... :)

Hi SHO....

Gr8 News..... Heartiest congratulations !!! Have you got RBVO status earlier?? If so, when??
Because we are 9 or 10 ppl ( as per earlier posts) who has got IN PROCESS status without getting RBVO status..... Our status is showing IN PROCESS but if we click on it, it shows the same old statements ( 2 statement) 1 is for recv. date and another is for PER date..... NO update (like yours) happened in our process tracker....

Pl guide....

Hi AVSNEH,

No I never got RBVO status initially one week after PER I got "In Process status" at that time I also got these 2 statements as yours but when I checked 11 days after PER there was an additinal line "We started processing your application on XXXX date"

No idea whats going on..

Dear forum members,

I thought I'd offer my two cents on the debate regarding "In Process" statuses on ECAS.

I think the Canadian government has streamlined a lot of their procedures, and applicants are likely to experience a much faster approval / rejection process.

As a result, it is probably not out of place for many applications (from the beginning of July) to be "In Process" at their respective Visa Offices.

From what I have understood about the immigration protocol, Wayne's (or Capuccino's) description of this stage of the process is pretty accurate:

(Quoted directly from his blog)

6) Processing begins – document background checks

Once the visa office begins processing your file they will commence with document background checks.

At this stage your ECAS status should now read “In Process” with the extra line in the detail “Your application was reviewed and we started processing on <Date>”.

This document background check will include ascertaining the authenticity of your documents, and since they use some third party companies for this it could take a varying level of time depending on your visa office, the complexity of your case, and even the speed of the individual visa officer looking at your case. They may also perform employment verification checks which will involve telephoning both you (whilst at work) and your employer to ensure you give the same answers on their questions about your employment. Only a small percentage of applicants are likely to receive employment verification. Only if they are unconvinced by any of the work experience documents you sent, or if your application is one of the random spotchecks they do to prevent fraud, will they actually perform the verification.

Visa office may request further documentation from you during the processing phase, which can come by email or snail mail. They may also ask for a few things (PCCs or fresh forms) at the same time as medicals (see below)

so for those who see "In Process" when they log in to ECAS, you can expect to either get your Meds Request or NER within a month.

Of course this is just my own deduction and I could be wrong. I also can't think of a reason why many people, like myself, don't see the “Your application was reviewed and we started processing on <Date>” message. As pointed out by several members, perhaps this is a system glitch.

But the process has been reviewed and improved by the Canadian government.

It could be that our ECAS will now remain at the "In Process" status for the next several months.

Let's see! Good Luck everyone!

Oh, and thank you to all those who congratulated me! I hope everyone receives some good news soon!

I hope we all are truly 'In Process".
