can you take travel insurance from India for 3 months. ICICI lombard and other players give for cover upto $250,000. Approx cost Rs10-15K.

In fact I was talking about the same travel insurance plans. I just checked ICICI lombard , but in their case if you are travelling on immigrant visa the max duration of policy cannot be more than 60 days. You need cover for little over 3 months, that's the time it takes to get OHIP.

Check Tata AIG , they have a policy (duration 4 months) with cover of $ 5,00,000 at the premium of Rs. 7500 per head.
