Im so disappointed, last wenesday i went to my bank to know if my BD has been en-cashed unfortunately, they told me that they don't know how to trace it... and the amount that i pay was already been en-cashed at that same date that I got my BD... what should I tell them they don't even know how to do it?

As per my consultant, the reason behind the delay in CC bd encashment is that according to the recent changes, the PER stage has been slashed off, and we will come to know of the PER only when our file is received by the VO, and we receive an email from the VO stating they have received our file (hence got PER) (this has been discussed earlier in the forum). Since the CIO ppl dont want to go through the phase where once CC charged, the points are not sufficient, or other reasons for which they do not give PER and return the money extracted, they are now delaying things and charging CCs and BDs only when they have no doubt of giving PER (hence saving time and efforts).

Friends!!! Does this make any sense for their delay? It does give me hope.

But then how do you explain that quite a few people HAVE had their credit cards charged, but have not yet had word from CIO?

As far as I am aware the operations manual has not changed with regards to the process. But I guess we'll know more when the PERs start coming through.

I must admit I think it would make sense not to charge the cards until after the eligibility review has been complete, since the cost of refunding the processing fees after encashment is far greater than any small amount of interest they would make having the money in their accounts for a bit longer.

Wayne.

I agree with Wayne regarding the issue of operating procedure. If the charging of credit cards meant that our applications have already been earmarked for processing, so many credit cards would not have been charged within a week of submission. My intuition says that the credit card charge / bank draft encashment is merely an acknowledgement of receiving a 'complete' package.

Perhaps the CIO may have changed their approach and scrapped the PER email. However, if that is the case, a PER / initialization of processing can only be ascertained once an applicant is contacted by their Visa Office.

It just seems unreasonable to assume that certain applicants could be awarded a PER in a week.

You dot need to be disappointed for that because the branch manager of the bank where i got the draft made is my good friend than also when I inquired with him to know the status of my BD he told me it takes minimum one month to get the update from their Canadian counterpart (bank) with whom they have tie up transactions.
Now let me tell you they are not going to tell you easily as they are lazy in that you go to the branch manager and tell him the details and ask him to provide you thee status and if he/she doesn't threat him that you will pull your account nd open in some other bank. as you have kept a good amount for you immigration ( as it is mandatory ).
Believe me he/ will give you all the details as today nobody wants to loose a good customer.
But my suggestion is that try to go minimum after 5-6 weeks of receipt of your application and first be polite and humble it really helps otherwise the first suggestion is there.
