I badly need anybody's advice here. I just received a letter from visa office of Manila dated Nov. 14, 2011 but I just received it January 24, 2011.. I emailed them January 19, 2012 saying that I haven't received any letter or update from them after receiving AOR on October 26, 2011.. Somebody from the Canadian embassy called us by phone on 24th of January 1:30pm to confirm if we received a letter from them. We told them that we didn't and we've been waiting for it. They told us that they mailed it on 14th of November but they will resend it. We checked the post office to look for it and there it is, at 3:00pm on that same day we had the letter. It says they request for additional evidence that I am in a common-law partner and submit the information within 30 days from the date of the letter or else it may lead to refusal of my application for PR in Canada. Huhuhuhu! I'm superdooper anxious! Are they really strict with the dates? It's been more than 2 months from the date of the letter.. Would they consider it if I will tell them the truth? Anybody's reply or opinion would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I think will consider it. Their call shows this. Just give them the documents ASAP. and also inform them telephonically that you received it on 24th Jan. so you need lil bit of time. I am hopeful you will get time.

Yes, you are allowed to do your medicals in the Phils however I advise you to do them in your country of residence in case they request you for further tests.

It is not obligatory to do furthering tests in the same medical centre but it is preferable, rest is your choice. If you are confident that you don't have any major issues (heart problems or cancer god forbid) or you have done a recent general check with your phisician and it came out clear, then you can do them in the Phils but keep in mind that you will need hard copies with you!

Thanks Big O, appreciate it!! :) got more questions though, i see you're residing in dubai.. Did you apply through a consultant? After how many months from PER will LVO issue MR? We got our PER last dec 2011 and im hoping MR comes before we leave for vacation on april.. Thank u so much! :))

Hello Positive Power (we are badly in need of your forum name to rub off on all of us ;))...welcome!!

Next you will rcvd a 2nd AOR from your VO (unless your VO is London, in which case you will directly rcv MR) saying they rcvd your application. This u can expect in about a month from PER.

After another 2 months expect your MedicalRequest / RPRF landing fees (and PPR that is Passport request if your VO is New Delhi). Then give another 2 months or so and you should rcv your PPR (VOs other than New delhi).

Basically from PER give yourself 4 to 5 months to rcv Visa.

All the best!

+1 for that helpful information.. I didnt know that, but sounds very good to get your visa after 4 to 5 months after PER!!

Dear CRU,

Since you have already called them that you did not get the letter on time. They know your situation. In my opinion, just prepare the requested documents as soon as possible and send them. Please also include a letter addressing to the immigration officer that the reason for the delay. Do not forget the telephonic talk with Visa office and the time you obtained the letter.
It will definitely work.
Good luck to you.

yes Bbhandari is absolutely right you need not worry about dates now as there call makes pretty clear that they are still waiting for your papers, just a quick note, as mentioned by luckymystery just give a call to visa office stating the exact information telephonically and in the meantime take steps to prepare documents.

best of luck dear :)

Dear Senor Counselors,
One they have issued a UCI and File Number(E000xxxxxxx),
in this stage do they reject or accept further supportive documents?
Thanks in advance

Hey Buddy

CIC issue the UCI and File/Application number just after they do the completeness check on your application.. and the next step they do is the encashment of DD and then Eligibility review where the applicant gets PER ( Positive Eligibility Review) or NER (Negetive Eligibility Review) on the application...
No further documents will be required at this stage as if they find the file incomplete then they return the file in the very first stage which is completeness check...

So just wait buddy.. You will be getting good news anytime
