I am with the London Visa Office too and I had my PER I think 19th october...and then received the MR 6th january...Its so quick, i wasn't expecting it.....

Hey Tkaur, Congrats! on your MR

As far as I know , visa is valid upto 1 year from the date of medicals..you can land in any province except Quebec..you can definitely go back to UK after completing landing formalities...just that you have to provide a mailing address in Canada for your PR cards . Simultaneously you should apply for SIN number, health card among other things.

I have a couple of questions too ,please if you can answer them.

1) Did you receive your medical request by email or post?
2) What your CAS details read at this point, mainly if you've the third line " we started processing..." in your CAS details?
3) For the tracker & benefit of other NDVO applicants, please share your AOR date & MR date

I am glad to know I can go back to the UK should I need to after I have landed, I can always have the PR card sent to my uncles address I suppose as he is a citizen in BC where I am hoping to move to.
What province are you hoping to move to?
In answer to your questions, I received my MR on the 6th Jan this year by mail from the London Visa Office... I am not sure what you mean by CAS details though? My PER/AOR email was sent on the 19th October..my CC was charged on the 16th September... the application I believe was sent for the 8th July...so things have happened relatively quickly....my medical is actually tomorrow! and think my NOC code is 3152 for Registered Nurse

Great news!

And good luck for your Medicals. I received mine on 11-01-12 and i am going on Monday for medicals. And yes you can come back after landing formalities. But seniors say that its better to stay there until you grab your PR card which comes in 6-8 weeks. Good luck

Hey everybody.

My how things have progressed!

Congratulations to all those who have recently received MRs, PERs, AORs etc.

My heartfelt sympathies to those who have received returned packages due to a variety of reasons. I know how much time and effort goes into preparing an application. Don't lose hope! Try again next year!

And finally, a note of support for people who - like me - continue to bare the agonizing bureaucracy of their visa offices. Trust me, their is no canonized rule book which can allow anyone to predict or understand how visa offices function. It isn't a first in, first out system. It doesn't seem to be determined by which visa office you are at (although manila is exceptionally fast). I guess now its down to individual details and which case represents a priority in the views of an officer.

Till the MR stage, I had been something of a trail blazer amongst the applicants on this forum. Never first (for PER,Payment encashment, RBVO / In process status etc. ) but always amongst the first few. Now things seem to have stalled. I guess being a 25 year old male is less advantageous than being part of a married couple with kids. It certainly gives your points tally a boost. What's the popular view here? Do you think the speed at which our applications are processed is correlated to how our applications compare to others? Does the number of points one score effect the speed at which an application progresses?

Views, opinions and especially concrete information from official sources would be much appreciated!

Hi I can completely sympathise with you as I still have not heard any news either about my MR and my ECAS is still the same. It is a little bit of a comfort to know that someone else from LVO is in the same situation! However I am married with two children and have a lot of job experience so I can't work out why our applications are taking longer. They don't seem to be processing them in any particular order. I too would appreciate any help or wisdom anyone has to offer.
