Joint Bank Account for Spouse

Hi Guys! I read in Form A-1520 that we need to show a joint bank account with minimum 12 months statement for Spouse as a prove that she is staying with main applicant since one year.

Right now I don't have a joint account so did anyone face this type experience? Please guide me.

This requirement is for "de facto" spouse:

If you are married then "marriage certificate" would suffice.

As I read in Form A-1520-LF, spouse and de facto spouse both are required to show the joint bank statement.

Previous version of same form, was slightly different and there it was mentioned that only de facto spouse should fill this requirement. While in new version says for both, spouse and de facto spouse.

If I am wrong, please correct me.

Did you get document checklist from MIDI ?

Can you please post URL English version of the form you are talking about.

Unfortunately, I didn't get it English release but I converted same French form into english by a web tool.

That's why I am confused.

Are you in QSW stream ? Did you get document checklist?

I didn't get the check list by immigration department but this form is available on QUEBEC online application.

Right now the website is down due to maintenance but you can download this form after open the mon project from 'Useful Documents' tab.

#9 is for married spouse
#10 is for de-facto spouse.

Most probably translation service you are using is messing up text language while converting French to English.

a) Link I have posted is from Official MIDI website. It's a central repository of ALL official forms.
b) If MIDI wants married couple to show "joint bank account" then it would become a big deal as 90% of married couple do not keep joint bank accounts.
