Which college ? You need to give that basic information first.

Ultimately though it will depend on what the college puts in your completion letter. If they confirm you completed a 1 year program then you could get a 1 year PGWP regardless whether the prospectus says 39 weeks.

Out of interest the course you are thinking of applying is very specific so how does this relate to your current qualifications and work experience which need to be relevant.

Thanks for your reply. No my current qualifications do not match the course I am taking. Just to give a background:

I am Commerce degree holder
Then did IT courses and worked in IT for 7-8 years
Lost interest in the work and wanted to change to new career.as I was always interested in trades, I thought I will try my luck with Carpentry and also venture into a new country.
I am not sure if I will have hurdles with admissions and initial student visa.

You will likely have a hard job convincing immigration of your intentions to take this course given it is not all relevant to your current qualifications or work experience. You are welcome of course to try but generally people are at least expected to have some previous work experience in the field of study given they need to show how attending a course in Canada will improve their prospects when they return to their home country and not just because they fancy a change in direction. Good luck
