Job title versus Job duties

Hi forumers!
Is there any forumers here who applied under any category who has a job title with a different job duties?
In my case I applied under NOC 3222 ( DEntal Hygienist). My job title is Dental assistant but my duties is of a DEntal Hygienist.
Please share your experiences and ideas..

Dental Assistant is not directly responsible for patient care (except for impressions, radiographs and making temporary crowns).

Dental Hygienist is qualified to perform all the above and also Scaling and Root Planing procedure (without flap reflection), oral prophylaxis, Fluoride therapy, and in some provinces/states maybe eligible to administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide. Dental Hygiene program is usually of a longer duration and requires a college degree and can supervise DAs.

Do your educational qualifications and training indicate Dental Hygiene or Dental Assisting?

Actually, eventhough my job title is dental assistant I am performing DEntal hygienist ( scaling and polishing, taking Impressions and radiographs, Flouride application, dental hygiene education, orthodontic procedures like ortho adjustments and debonding and simple fillings). My degree and license as a dentist in the Philippines qualifies me to perform these hygienist duties here in Saudi Arabia. ANother thing, dental hygienist Job title is usually being given only to Saudi NAtionals because of their Saudization program...

Hi bee,
For your application to proceed smoothly, it would be best to have consistency in your educational degree, job title, and job duties. Any deviation is usually a reason for extra scrutiny.

I am not familiar with Saudization program and hence I cannot comment. I would suggest you contact a Canadian immigration attorney who is familiar with the Saudization program. I would suggest putting up a thread on this forum, maybe someone knows of a few attorneys with this experience.

Based on what you just mentioned, I think you would be a good candidate to apply as a Dentist (the cap of 500 applications was just reached). I'm not sure of the validity of this statement but I recall reading somewhere on this forum that the Dentist category will/might be opening again later this year. Go through the Dentist thread by Dr. Hasib on this forum. There is a wealth of information there.

Actually, I already applied last Oct 2010 and got PER last Feb 2011, last Sept 2011 I recieved from London VO a letter requesting for additional documents about my Work experience..I submitted the said documents on Nov 2011 and im waiting for their response about it...
I applied by myself..
About the dentist category, my work experience as dentist was just 2 years last 1999 - 2001.
So, I just decided to apply under NOC 3222 since my job duties in my present employment for 7 years are of a dental hygienist.
