Job should be related to our course

I have completed my MBA in Canada with commerce background from India.Iam working as information system testing technician(NOC 2283) for a financial institution. Now CIC is asking me that my job is not related to my courses.

Any help is appreciated

Employment requirements

Completion of a college program in computer science, computer programming or network administration is usually required.
College or other courses in computer programming or network administration are usually required.
Certification or training provided by software vendors may be required by some employers.

The key is here, I am guessing you have none of those, therefore CIC questions whether or not you actually have this job/responsibilities without the proper education.

Does not mean that they don't accept your application, just that you need to justify that despite the fact that you don't have those employment requirements, you can still be doing the job.

For that it is not that hard, your employer should write you a letter explaining why they selected you for the job (like above poster said, it can be that your company sees value in employing from other fields) along with any document you can provide CIC that would show that despite not having the degree in that field, you still followed some courses in that field.

Thank you So much for the positive response.Yes when i joined in the company my company trained me on technical field which is an asset for the financial institution having strong business and technical knowledge. Based on this my client even recently promoted me as a Subject Matter Expert.

i would suggest you to go to any good lawyer and just take his advice and then reply to this email as soon as possible because in my case I replied almost month ago didn't heard anything yet i am august applicant. I will update you when i heard anything from cic regarding my case

Yeah I filed my case with lawyer. They are not suggesting anything... they are asking me to answer

Well, look like you have an answer already.

Just ask your company for a good explanatory letter adding documents about your company training.

Guys what do you say on the letter format it would be fine or should I be including more...

This letter is to certify that XXXXXX is currently employed in XXXXXXXXXX as Software Testing Technician. She has been working with us since XXXXXX.
Her Financial and Business knowledge is an asset to a company, which is very helpful for our financial clients. The company has trained her on software applications to perform techno functional role as per client requirement before started working with the client. Being an MBA Graduate and techno functional skills, she has been promoted to Subject Matter Expert (SME) at the client location.

This letter has been issued to serve any legal purpose or to certify her experience on her request.

Training offered, methods (formal, like following a book, mentoring, continous supervision...), topics, duration....

And a statement saying you passed it and your performance in the company met all requirements.

Something like that, I guess.
