So, I'm mostly all set to get the application in the mail. Heading down to the in-laws for Amerigiving* this weekend and my husband and I are gonna go over everything, make sure it's all good, then I'll print it out next Monday and mail it then or Tuesday, time allowing.

Last night, I lost my job effective Dec 8th. I already have the letter of employment from them, and I'm hoping to apply before Dec 8th, but is CIC calls to verify or something theyre gonna be like uhh yeah no she doesnt work for us anymore. What should I do?

*Does anyone know what time on Sunday is best to come back over the border? Black Friday thoughts.

I don't really see a problem here. They will confirm for how long you worked there and when did you leave(if they find out that you no longer work there). Once they will get to know your final date of work, everything will make sense to them. Don't sweat it, just find another job and quick. Enjoy your holidays. :)

You will have to use the same ending date which your company has mentioned on the letter. If it is 8th december, use only that one.

There isnt an ending date on the letter. The letter is the letter of employment I asked for. Then they let me go yesterday with the date of Dec 8.

I'm sure they will provide you a letter of termination if you ask the HR department. Do let them know why you need it and why the ending date is so important to be mentioned. This might bring a delay of couple of days in your application submission, but I think it is worth it. You will be saving yourself from a lot of time delay and puzzling inquiries.

I don't see how it's different from writing unemployed, putting the end date as Dec 8 and just including my own letter saying I'm back to job hunting, I guess? Haha.

There's no requirement for you to be employed. The question is if CIC actually checks into these things(which I doubt highly) will it look like misrepresentation.

All you have to do to avoid any issues is note your job ending date in the application. Since you are employed when you apply, and have the letter, It's fine to mark "employed". Just note somewhere that your job ends Dec. 8.

You can certainly do that. My boyfriend (the sponsor) was briefly unemployed when we applied, and he included no other explanation than just writing that he's looking for a new job in one of the forms. He found one shortly after we sent the application, and we got sponsor approval normally in about 2 months.

That's where I'm confused.. Do I mark unemployed, just list the job on the part where you list your previous 4 jobs, and include an explanation, or mark employed, include the letter and then attach a note that I'm terminated as of Dec 8? I'll only be submitting about a week before Dec 8 so they probably won't even look at it until after.

I'm not 100% certain on this, but I would fill everything as it stands at the time of filling in and sending the application. So if you mail it before December 8st, I would say that I'm employed, but somehow indicate that the employment will only last until December 8th and that you don't have a new job yet.
