Hi,

I am currently studying in a co-op college in BC that does not offer PGWP, only the Open work permit during the co-op time.
Currently, I became a manager (Teer 0, NOC 60020) and received a job offer (without LMIA) for its position.
My work permit is expiring in August, as I will finish my college.

Can i get an employee specific work permit with my current job offer while staying in Canada as an International student with co-op work permit visa, or do I need to be with a visitor visa to be able to apply?

Thanks!

When do you graduate? You will need a LMIA from employer to continue working once you graduate.

You can apply for a work permit but your employer needs to get an approved LMIA first.

LMIA exempt work permits are only available in very specific / limited circumstances. Under which LMIA-exempt rule are you planning on applying?

I am going to assume you are not eligible for a LMIA exempt (company transfer from another country, FTA agreement). You will need a LMIA.

I would assume canadian interests but my guess is that it would not be possible.

Yes, it makes sense.

Thanks!

You mean significant benefit? I think that's unlikely. What is your occupation?

You should assume an LMIA is required. You should start talking to your employer about that now. They need to start that process as soon as possible.

I am a department manager, in which is needed to do internal training for around 6 months to get the position.

Unfortunately this won't fall under significant benefit. Please speak with your employer as soon as possible about the LMIA since this is quite a long process and you also need to find out if your employer is willing to apply. Good luck.
