Do you mean on the forms or a specific request from CIC to prove a job?

The Canadian of us hasn't lived in Canada for longer than your wife and for resettling we included a covering letter and in there mentioned generic job searching and we included an email to a contact that had been sent asking for some feedback on our skill set. That was it as far as jobs go.

We did also other items to show their intent to settle incl home ownership docs and lots of contact with friends and family discussing moving back.

Sponsorship was approved in about 3 weeks with public holidays in the middle. So no you don't need a job lined up to show intent to re-settle. Income was requested elsewhere and from that and home ownership paper I suppose it was evident there is ways to support the applicant.

Medical has to be done with the application usually. Check your guide.

Also, have your wife do research of jobs, and maybe e-mail some employers explaining the situation and talking about them hiring her. It's called cold calling, but via e-mail. Then you can print those with a letter from your wife stating it is difficult to obtain a job offer when you are living in another country.
